About this property

Cabin G is situated on a secluded road amid a private, wooded and beautiful setting. Abrams Creek is near many extraordinary recreational sites, but is also its own destination. You are never far from our wild, whitewater stream that runs through a majestic hemlock forest. In some places, the stream is a constant source of energy and playfulness; in other places, it is peaceful and calming, inviting you to soak in its beauty. The forest contains a vast array of plants and wildlife.

The Space

This is a rustic cabin - no plumbing or electric. It has battery-powered permanent lighting and propane heat. It has propane tabletop stove that uses the (approximately) 1 lb canisters. Bring your own propane canisters for the stove, or you can purchase them from us..

The cabins are fully furnished with beds, chairs, table, and other necessary furnishings, but our guests supply their own pillows, blankets, sheets, towels, pots, pans, plates and tableware. There are bunk beds and a queen bed on the main floor, a full-sized mattress and a twin mattress in one loft and two twin mattresses in the other loft. There are portapotties and a showerhouse nearby, as well as sources of potable drinking water.

If you want less rustic accommodations, we have those as well, at very affordable prices.

Guest Access

Near the lodge house and office there is access to a phone with free calls anywhere in the US. There is no WiFi at the cabins, but there is WiFi in the vicinity of the main lodge house.

We are located within 30-45 minutes of many major recreational areas, including Blackwater Falls, Swallow Falls, Dolly Sods Wilderness, the Youghiogheny River, several ski resorts, and Deep Creek Lake. Mount Storm (3 miles) has a general store, gas station, library, motel, sports and recreation store, and public park.

Interaction with Guests

Guests are welcome to interact with hosts as they choose or be as private and secluded as they wish to be. Weather permitting, we have a bonfire most Saturday nights.

Other Things to Note

Our usual check in time is 3PM; you may check in anytime after 3PM until 10PM, or later by arrangement. Our usual check out time is noon. If you need more flexible check in or check out times, please contact us!

Great wilderness getaway

Very secluded, the cabins were spaced apart so you could really enjoy the sounds of nature.

Advertising should be more honest

What was advertised, before booking and paying, should have been more honest about this property. After paying for a cabin at this location, we got a message saying "there's no electricity, no bathroom, no wifi ". We felt fortunate to get an upgrade when we arrived, but the house we got was dirty, had mousetraps, and who knows what else. Good thing we only stayed for one night.

It was horrible experience. The worst , stay ever. Cabins are very very filthy and half done. Insulation exposed and falling. Bathroom dirty and smelly………

We loved the cabin, workers, and area. it was exactly what we were looking for to get away for a weekend before our wedding. Unfortunately, we didn’t stay overnight(we booked for 2 nights) due to there being mice in instillation. They were very helpful and put mouse traps in. I don’t blame them for this because it is in the middle of the woods and they can’t control it. They were prepared to help us, which is what matters! My suggestion is maybe putting plywood or something to at least cover the instillation up on the ceiling and calling an exterminator. Overall, the creek was right there which we loved and the worker we spoke with was amazing!
