We really enjoyed our stay at Mays. Friendly neighbors, super quiet, nice coffee shop down the road. Drove 45 mins to Mt Airy for the day Saturday & it was a nice drive in. Dogs loved all the space and the yard. Nice game room downstairs & tons of space on the upper floor. Everything we needed for a weekend trip provided.
This was a great cabin for a weekend getaway. I would definitely book this again.

Cozy Cabin
This property was nice. It was not cleaned before we got there, though. There was dog hair everywhere and just clumps of it in the middle of the floor. No trash bags in the entire house. The shower upstairs does not work. The property itself was nice and the property manager was great. This property is in the middle of nowhere, but that's to be expected. Overall it was a fun trip. I would stay there again if I was in the area. Housekeeping needs some work.
This was a beautiful and charming home that was perfectly suited for our Thanksgiving family gathering. It has a lovely gameroom that we all utilized and the hosts were super friendly. 10 out of 10....highly recommend!
We spent four days and three nights. We were working our way down the Shenandoah and Blue Ridge and spent a few days in the area. I've been in the area a lot in years past but not recently. Was great to be in the area again. The house was a great jumping off location for our days activities. The house was as listed and the owner is very kind and responsive if you want/need to touch base. There were only two of us so the house was way more than we needed, but we enjoyed the space and our time here, and only wish we'd taken longer to enjoy the area.
My son and his family recently moved to Woolwine, and we feel so grateful to have found the perfect cabin for when we visit. The Cabin has that rustic and serene feel about it, and the pond with the stream is an added plus. A nice, quiet property that had everything we needed!
We played 3 days of golf at some courses fairly local and this property seemed to be the best location to accommodate our drives. All who stayed enjoyed the time spent
Quaint cabin full accommodations, cozy, yet spacious. Beautiful covered deck in back. It rained but didn’t ruin our family cookout, gas grill under covered deck. Lush trees all around. It was awesome.
The cabin is as described. Shannon was very easy to work with and responsive. The beds were pretty comfortable. There is room in the upstairs bedroom to add an air mattress for more people. This is as much "in the sticks" as any city person would want. Roads are crazy curvy but paved. The pond and creek "down the hill" are more like down the mountain. What a hike back up! The back yard is a small flat area that you wouldn't want to miss your ball if playing volleyball or pickle ball as it will roll down the mountain. Beautiful countryside. And it's Virginia weather in the summer, so super hot and humid which was to be expected. Good A/C. Wood Brothers Museum worth the trip if you are a race fan. The Gordon Trent golf course was severely lacking!
Beautiful cabin, even nicer than in the pics. We loved spending time down by the creek/pond. Fairy Stone Park was a 20 min. drive, and we enjoyed getting breakfast at Crossroad Cafe. I would love to come back in the winter.
Very relaxing spot and very quiet. When you sat on the back porch you would think you were in the very middle of the 27 acres. We saw a lot of wildlife; baby bobcat, foxes, rabbits and deer. Everything worked well. Husband was excited to fish and caught a couple of bass and brim.
The cabin was clean, cozy and comfortable. Decorated beautifully . Only about ten miles away from Fairy Stone State Park. We walked down to the large pond and the stream below the cabin. You can see both sunrise and sunset from the cabin. The host, Shannon was very helpful and delightful to talk with.
Thank you for a great vacation! The log cabin and the property were amazing. It was so relaxing and the cabin was very clean. We loved sitting on the front and back porches. The neighbors were so friendly. The Mountain View’s were incredible. This was a perfect place to relax and unwind. We hope to come back in the spring. I highly recommend this place!!
We didn't want to leave. The cabin is beautiful, the location was beautiful, quiet ,all you can hear are the birds singing. No traffic. All you can see is trees from each window. Kitchen has everything you need to make meals. There are three beds to choose from, you will find one to meet your comfort. The gas grill was ready to cook homemade pizza and steak kabobs. Tv was there, but didn't need it, we were there to enjoy nature. We did encounter bear down at the pond between it and the creek. He scared us as much as we scared them. Thank you for sharing your beautful home. We will definitely be back!
The house was exactly what we were looking for. Plenty of room and plenty of privacy. Would recommend to anyone
