Le Moulin de Record is located in a green and wild valley, between Castres and Lacaune, in the Tarn department in the Midi-Pyrénées region, 10 minutes from Brassac and 2 minutes from Ferrières, in the heart of Sidobre.
Built in the 15th century on a granite block, in the heart of Sidobre, this lordly mill has managed to cross the centuries while keeping its turbines and grinding stones intact, which still turn for visitors.
Gabriele and Jean-Pierre offer comfortable holiday accomodation and a cozy guest room in soft colors, for a stay in the heart of nature, to the rhythm of bird songs and the whisper of the river, in a relaxing setting where time seems to have stood still. Our neighbors are named fox, deer, roe deer, duck, owl, otter, grey heron, falcon, trout, crayfish...
The apartment "Miller's Kids", formerly the sleeping rooms of the family's kids, is comfortable for 2 people, and can accommodate up to 5 people (1 bedroom with a 160x200 bed, a 90x200 bed, and a living room with a convertible sofa bed of 145 x 200) and invites you to recharge in the midst of nature, with private fishing just below the appartment, reserved for our guests, hiking, mountain biking, meditation, visiting the mill...
Fully equipped open kitchen with all modern comfort: induction hob, stainless steel cookware, large fridge, ultra-quiet dishwasher, traditional electric coffee maker (4 filters), toaster, oven, microwave.
The non-adjacent terrace is located 15m from the apartment and overlooks the river, facing a panorama of wild and preserved nature.
Observing the night sky in summer is an absolute pleasure.
High season (July to August): weekly rentals only, with Saturday check-in/check-out.
September to June: minimum 2-night stay.
Fishing paradise:
No less than 18 fishing circuits in the region, a first category fishing river with a regular and permanent flow - our fishing enthusiasts have a great time teasing the trout,
and why not catch crayfish and transform them into a delicious dish...
On-site activities:
• Hiking on trails around the Mill
• 2 multi-day GR loops starting from the Mill
• Mountain biking on marked trails starting from the Mill
• From March to September: trout fishing (private fishing on approximately 250m)
• Crayfish fishing (highly appreciated by adults and children alike!)
• Swimming in the river, including safe spots for the little ones where the water is only a few centimeters deep
• Shiatsu or Yoga by an exceptional practitioner who comes to the Mill on demand (advance booking required)
• The Museum of Protestantism is worth a visit (1 km away)
