Suzanne and Dave are amazing, they made sure we had everything we needed and more! The property is gorgeous and secluded but not too far from points of interest. The room was perfect, Suzanne made sure all the essentials were provided and much more. I will definitely stay there again.
On our way to the property we were intrigued by the beautiful ranches and farms we passed and by the tree-lined road along which you were lucky to spot a exotic animal (ie. the biggest elk I have ever seen)! This proved to be only the beginning of a wonderful stay! The property is tucked back on a secluded lot and the hosts have a house on the front portion of the property and our amazing room was in another building divided by a large cluster of trees. The privacy, quiet and amazing stargazing were some of our favorite aspects of this stay. The day of arrival we were contacted by the hosts and they made sure that check-in was smooth and that we were settled in...we felt very well taken care of from the start. When we arrived to our room, we were flabbergasted - it was stunning and so well appointed! The bed was very comfortable and the hosts supplied fans, coffee/tea and snacks to make our stay even more home-like. The shower was luxurious and after a long day in the fields, it was such a treat! We had the privilege of catching up with the owners at a couple points on our 10 day stay and they are the nicest people - 'salt of the earth' my grandfather would say! I was impressed at how the hosts balanced privacy and attentiveness - we never felt 'watched', but they were quick to accommodate any request we had! Words cannot express how fortunate we were to find Flying Deer Ranch and our gracious hosts - WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!
The property is very clean, nice, and quiet. The owners are simply wonderful people who are very hospitable and easy to work with. Recommend!

This place was very nice, totally out in the beautiful countryside, trees, cattle, deer...beautiful. The owners were there to greet us, wonderful couple, friendly, helpful, would have loved to have the time to sit and visit with them. One disadvantage to being so far out was the issues with cell service but once we figured out to go to the main house, connect to the wifi then we could get directions on our maps to where we were going. Keep in mind there is no TV and because the building is metal you can't connect to the internet to stream anything on your phone. Super quiet and secluded.
A couple of negatives: some sort of hook on the wall to hang shirts and jackets from would have been terrific and no TV (husband really missed that).
Overall staying here at the Flying Dear Retreat was very nice and the owners were awesome.

I Purchased the Raw Property in 2000. It has been a Labor of Love to Build Each Component! Still a Work in Progress with New Amenities Added Each Year. We have Several Long Term Stays of 30 Days or More - Because It Is Easy to Fall in Love with This Place!
Why they chose this property
Un-plug from Technology and Re-connect with Nature as You De-stress In The Quiet Solitude of a Pastoral Setting. Long Walks, Read a Book, Write, Play Cards, or Just Sit and Think/Create. There is a Magnificent Fire Pit - Perfect for Events - that is Available; However, Renters Must Have Prior Approval From Owners Before Using as There are Occasional Burn Bans in the Area. Fire Protection Protocols Must Be in Place Prior to Lighting the Fire Pit.
