The perfect location for exploring all of Kauai. A quiet resort right on the beach. Lovely grounds. Pool, child's pool and sand box, hot tub, spa on site, fitness center, one of the best restaurants on the island. Island style decor, private lanai. Full kitchen, washer and dryers, dishwasher. This is a resort with staff and concierge. 3 story buildings with no elevators. Master bedroom has a King bed and there is a full size hide-a-bed in the living room. Ocean front rooms usually require booking between 9 and 12 months ahead. Garden view (partial ocean view), 2 bedroom condos and studios are also available, as are the other Shell Vacation Club associated properties on Kauai: The Cliffs and the Lawai Beach Resort. The resort will require a credit card on check-in and will charge a resort fee (usually around $20 daily for the room).

There is a lovely walkway along the beach there. The beach is narrow, but sandy, with a rocky ledge for tidepools. We have snorkelled right off the beach, which is protected from the waves by an outer reef. You can walk to the Lava Lava Beach Club and sit with your feet in the sand for breakfast or other meals. The other hotels along the walkway also have bars and restaurants. The Coconut Marketplace is right next door for shopping.
