About this property
Boutique Chic Garden Retreat a Fremont Oasis w/ a BBQ, fire pit & outdoor dining
Boutique Chic Garden Retreat is in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood, known as the "Center of the Universe" meaning close to everything you will want to see. This garden oasis is a beautiful craftsman home built in 1909, with a private patio and an outdoor gas firepit, and indoor gas fireplace. This 2+ bedroom, 1500 sq ft house has all the craftsman details, but has been completely brought up to date, and decorated with a chic flair. It is a stunning mix of old and new. Enjoy!
WHY CHOOSE THE BOUTIQUE CHIC GARDEN RETREAT OVER OTHERS?
The Boutique Chic Garden Retreat is the most perfect spot for special occasions and relaxing getaways. It is fun and full of life. It exudes happiness and joy everywhere you look. Whether you are relaxing on the private patio surrounded by flower gardens and huge neighborhood trees, conversing with friends by candlelight around the dining room table, cooking in the fully stocked kitchen, reading by the fire in the living room, or getting a good night sleep on a medium firm bed in our air conditioned rooms, your heart will be full.
The Kitchen-
is small but user friendly. It has stainless appliances, including a dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and down draft electric stove. There is a rolling, stainless island and bar stools that can be used as a prep station or working office. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need to make a nice meal.
Outdoor Patio Area-
is out through the kitchen and back door. The patio area is completely fenced in for privacy and has a gas BBQ and gas firepit. There is also a table for at least 6 to sit at.
Bedrooms-
There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor, each has a queen bed, closet, luggage rack and hooks and hangers. The rooms are small like many old houses, but have everything you need. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans, air conditioning units and fun art on the walls. There is also an iron and ironing board in one of the closets. There is a 3rd makeshift bedroom with a dresser and TV in the basement, with a full size hide a bed that converts to a couch during the waking hours, and acts as a second living room and a place to watch TV
The Living Room-
is a very comfortable space to unwind, looking out at all the pretty trees. You would never know you are in the heart of a big city. There is a gas fireplace, couch and 2 chairs that sit in front of the fire, one on each side of the fire place. The lights are on a dimmer switch, so turn down the lights and relax at the end of your day in front of the fire.
The Dining Room-
is so fun! It has a dining room table with 6 chairs, and parrot wall paper that matches the chairs. The lights dim, the service wear matches, and red and white wine glasses and champagne glasses provided.
The bathroom-
is off the kitchen and back bedroom. It is stocked with fine Turkish towels. Unfortunately there is no bathtub, SHOWER only.
The front porch-
is a nice shady place to sit and watch the happenings of the neighborhood. You are surrounded by trees, so although you are out in the open it is still quite private.
The basement-
has just been updated in 2021. In the basement is an open floor plan with washer and dryer behind a curtain. It is a two room open floor plan. As you enter the basement is a room with a small desk/ table area for somebody needing to work from "home" with privacy. From the desk you can see the tv too. In the other room is a Hide-a-bed couch with a full size hide-a-bed, tv (the same tv you can see from office), & dresser. The basement is just over 400 square feet.
Parking-
Parking is not a problem here. There is always parking right out front or across the street, and it is free.
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE LOCATED IN THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE!
It means that you are 2 -3 blocks from the bus stop to downtown, chain grocery stores, neighborhood market, breweries, restaurants, retail, a big park with a playground, and the Burke Gilman trail. With a walk score of 90 you know everything is real close.
You are located in the middle of Fremont and Ballard, a couple of the hottest neighborhoods in the city, with everything to offer. Between Fremont and Ballard there are numerous James Beard award winning restaurants, like Walrus and Carpenter, Rock Creek, Staple and Fancy to name a few. Between the 2 neighborhoods we have more than a dozen breweries. Not to mention some of the hottest breweries are right here like Fremont Brewing, Reubens and Stoup, all with hopping patios especially on a beautiful weekend. There are great music venues too. Check out the Tractor Tavern, Nectar, High Dive or the Fremont Abby where you can go to MOTH.There is great shopping ranging anywhere from multiple grocery stores to boutique stores of every kind, all the way up to car shopping. There are gyms, yoga studios, bikes, and everything else you can imagine with in walking distance.
Go to the Zoo and rose garden (1m), swim in or run around Greenlake (2 m), ride Lime bike/scooter on Burke Gilman Trail (2blocks) to Gas Works Park (1.5 m) while watching the boats come in from or go out to the Sound, or ride your lime Bike on Burke Gilman toward Ballard and go to the Locks (2m from house), or keep going past the Locks and go out to Golden Gardens Beach Park and watch the sunset (4.5m from house).
Pike Place Market, The Great Wheel, Crusie ship Terminal, Ferry terminal, Seattle Center ( Space Needle, EMP, Key Arena Memorial Stadium, Chihuly Glass Garden, Pacific Science Center, IMAX, MCCaw Hall, and Monorail to down town), aquarium, Outdoor Sculpture Park and downtown (all only approx.. 4 miles from the house), and the Stadiums (Seahawks, Sounders and Mariners)are only 5 miles.
THIS IS WHAT I MEAN BY THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE!

About the host
Hosted by Alycia Prather

I was born and raised in Eastern Washington, and have lived in Washington most of my life except for the 6 years I lived in Hawaii. I have lived in Seattle for the last 20 years. My husband and I have 6 long term rental units in Seattle, and one short term vacation rental on Vashon Island (vrbo.com/1028506). We have slowly been adding to our rental inventory for the past 19 years, and earlier this year we bought this gem of a house.
Why they chose this property
We live in Fremont, and know the person who owned it previously. When we heard he was selling it, we were delighted because it is such a cute house on a corner lot. All the plumbing and electrical had been updated, but all the old world charm was still in tact. So we bought, decorated it and now want you to enjoy it.
What makes this property unique
The benefits are endless, but the main ones are it is close to literally everything Seattle has to offer yet it is still private. It is beautifully decorated with a lot of color and designer furniture and lighting. It is surrounded by trees and flowers, fire pit outside, fireplace inside, indoor and outdoor dining, warm in the winter, cool in the summer... I could go on and on. Come check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
