Wheatland Inn is a whole-house vacation rental. Updated pricing = No extra guest fees now! Originally built circa-1890's, this is a 2-story farmhouse that has been newly renovated to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests. The house has three bedrooms, 2 single and 1 double/triple. One single bedroom is handicap accessible on the first floor. Each bedroom has its own full private bathroom. The house includes a spacious kitchen, dining room, living room, 3 porches, laundry facilities, and large patio with a fire-pit. ... And pet friendly!

Wheatland Inn is nestled on a hill overlooking rolling agricultural fields of Botetourt County, Virginia. Located midway between Buchanan and Fincastle, and just 20 miles north of Roanoke, your family and friends can experience all the city and country culture the area has to offer. Find local wineries, breweries, fine dining, live music, museums and shops all within a 30 minute drive. This was the perfect middle spot for family’s to meet. It was a great getaway for the weekend. The house was great. Some perfect views and close to some state parks that were worth exploring. Great place, definitely recommend.

This place is beautiful. The views are also stunning. It’s also a close drive to natural bridge, Virginia safari park,ldevils backbone brewery and other great things for explore.

Family Memories in the Making!

Our family gathered here to celebrate our daughter’s graduation. We needed a home that was ADA accessible and this surpassed all expectations! The views were gorgeous, and the home was comfortable and clean. The amenities available within the home were plentiful and we had plenty of space to gather. The host was very responsive and friendly. We loved making memories together in this beautiful space. We’ve been gone less than 12 hours and I want to go back already!

Mountain Paradise

The home was absolutely beautiful and well maintained! The homeowners go above and beyond to make you feel at home, everything you could possibly need is right there. The beds were so comfortable !! We enjoyed setting around the fire pit for hours just enjoying the moment, and they provided the wood!! This will be our go-to home anytime we go back to Virginia.

The four of us really spread out in these large, well-decorated rooms. Lots of character and lots of beautiful views at this house. We had all we needed and Greg even took some photos for us. The house is so easy to find off of Route 81. We cannot wait to come back for another girl's weekend!

Worth every penny!

One of the best vrbo my family has ever stayed at! The view is nothing short of amazing to go along with excellent hosts. The property owners were so accommodating for myself and family. Then the addition of Joan taking the time out of her day to show us her cows! And feed them! I highly recommend this stay as a must if in the Roanoke area!

Peaceful Setting

The location provided a great view of the rolling hills of Virginia. It was peaceful with plenty of space for a family to spend time together. There are quite a few activities in the area and close to an urban area for a host of choices of activities and entertainment and food. The large living area and multiple porches were great to enjoy the outside and inside without feeling cramped. We would recommend this as a great location to see this area of Virginia.

Lovely Views

We stayed here to take a weekend class nearby. The property was a joy to stay in. Clean, well appointed and lovely views of the mountains and surrounding fields. The only thing I would change would be to have dimmers on the overhead light and maybe a small bedside lamp in the bedrooms. Everything else was just perfect. Thanks for another wonderful stay.

Country get-away

Beautiful home; comfortable and well-stocked! We love cooking in the big kitchen, sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee in the morning, listening to the cows. Chipmunks, rabbits, and a groundhog made their appearances under a huge old tree nearby. Lots of birds and lovely plants. A perfect place to relax!

Perfect Family Getaway

We had such a wonderful week. This house was perfect for our family: the views, the outdoor toys, games & puzzles… we soaked up the sunrise and sunset each night. We were within quick driving distance of so many activities: Natural Bridge, Safari Park, downtown Buchanan… We packed in the activities in the morning, and then spent our afternoons and evenings relaxing at this beautiful home. Our kids didn’t want to leave! We’ll be back for another visit at some point!

TRULY AMAZING!! Relaxing, peaceful, beautiful!

Greg & Joan have a beautiful place. Everything about this weekend was so special to Carla and I. The Farmhouse has everything you could ask for in a relaxing weekend. The property was renovated with tons of attention to detail to make it seem like it was something professionally done in a TV show. We loved the old original items that were kept around to add that special farmhouse character, like the water pump faucet, decor, and a few original refurbished doors on the bathroom. The views were something you dream about and it was truly something special to watch the sunrise/set grilling on the back deck. The beds were SUPER comfortable, and felt so much different waking up here than a typical vacation. Thanks for a wonderful weekend!!

Farm House

This is a great property. The house is fully loaded with everything a family/guest would need to ensure a comfortable stay. The house is fully remodeled with a mix of modern and antique farm décor. The kitchen is fully stocked for any type of cook and the outdoor grill/back deck is awesome--with a great view. We grilled out every night. Though we did not use it, the property comes with a nice fire pit on its back patio. Again, comes with a great view. Love the location--nothing beats the VA countryside. Owners were very helpful and responsive. Caution--the house uses satellite TV/Internet, which can limit its service. We did not find it to be an issue, plenty of other things to do on vacation other than watch TV/surf the internet. Highly recommend this property to anyone--families and/or couples. Our dog even loved the farm.

Grandson's Wedding

If I could give 10 stars I would. My husband who generally says nothing about where I choose to stay with VRBO said "this is the best place we have every stayed". We travel for family events, pleasure and business in the Northern Continent and Europe. That was a big statement. All of the kids loved it as well. Ages 18-60. Some of the reasons this is such a great place is its location. You walk in and you see rolling hills, mountains, valleys and cows. It's so picturesque-you immediately slow down. The home has lots of windows and sunshine streaming in. There is a wonderful back porch with grill, frig, and prep sink. Then there is a large side patio area with a bonafide in ground fire pit with all the wood you need right on premise. There are 3 bedrooms all with ensuite baths 1 king, I queen and 1 extra large with 2 queens and a day bed. It was perfect. The kitchen is a dream with all the spices, coffee and paper items you could use. Gas stove was great and we did cook. Also, the house was spotless. We were there for 5 days. I could go on but I leave it to say - WE WIL BE BACK!

Amazing!!

I don’t even know where to start. This place has everything! The view is absolutely stunning. We ended up building a fire outside on our last night and had the best time. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a place that is so well equipped. The only thing I regret is not staying longer. If you’re trying to choose between different properties, pick thus one every time.
