Thank you verry much for your stay to olive yard house. My pleasure to host you. You are a grate family
Olive Yard House is exactly as described and more with a wonderful host; Nikos
Nikos has developed a small but beautifully formed piece of heaven in Rhodes.
My wife and I have had the most wonderful 2-week stay in Olive Yard House and have taken full advantage of Nikos and his mother’s welcome to enjoy the house, pool, garden and all it offers. Daily, we have collected fresh eggs and from the garden picked and eaten lettuce, spring onions, tomatoes, herbs and a cornucopia of fruit: apricots, mulberries, lemons, limes, strawberries and figs. Lucky holidaymakers later in the year will be able to enjoy bananas, peaches and grapes as well.
Nikos is THE most welcoming of hosts. He prepared a meze for our arrival even though our flight was delayed he was there to meet us when we arrived at 10.30 p.m. He had stocked the fridge with everything we needed for the first day or two, he had also supplied fruit, bread and rolls. He is more of a friend to us now than an owner.
I didn’t expect the pool to be warm enough to swim in however, it was glorious, and the outside areas made the holiday so much more enjoyable as there was a BBQ, hot & cold outside showers, hammock, several comfortable sun beds and loungers, hanging chairs, and under cover a hi-fi, table and seats to relax out of the sun and in the evening lights illuminated the garden, outside spaces and pool. The covered car port keeps the car cool (and you will need a car). The photos in the advert are exactly what you get, inside and outside the house.
An especially lovely addition was the hanging bed with mozzy net, you can’t help but fall asleep gently swaying under all the hanging grapes. The main bed is really comfortable and the aircon works perfectly as do all the other amenities. There is a TV which we hardly used and a good wi-fi connection.
The property is completely set within an olive grove and not overlooked by anyone and with electric gates, so you have your own private paradise! We highly recommend Olive House Yard to anyone.
Thank you Nikos for being such a wonderful host, gentleman and friend.
Thank you erry much for your lovely review
Idyllic rustic retreat
Although our visit was in October, the weather was absolutely glorious. The house was clean and very rustic, which was what we were looking for. The pool was too cold for us, but the sea water was perfect in temperature for swimming. Nikos greeted us on our arrival with a cooked chicken and a platter of fresh salad, feta cheese and olives. He had also stocked the fridge with milk, butter, soft drinks, beer and wine. There was also bread and breakfast rolls What more could you ask for. There were also dishwasher tablet provided, toilet rolls etc. I have never stayed in a villa where all this is given free of charge, and he does this for all his guests. Can not praise him enough. Nearly forgot, fresh hens eggs every morning, if you care to go and collect them. The generosity of the Greek people is amazing. What a perfect two week retreat. You will need a car to visit areas around the Island which we did. There is plenty of exploring to do, and I would advise you do.
Thank you Nikos for making our vacation a perfect one.
Thank you verry much for your stay and you cepet so clean the house you are grate family too
A wonderful place to stay so beautiful
We arrived around 1am and were greeted by the owner Nikos who had turned oh the lights in the garden and house which looked like something out of a fairy tale. In the kitchen he had prepared some food for us cooked chicken & salad with bread & a welcome bottle of red wine he had also stocked the fridge with milk coke and beer . we asked if there was a car hire company nearby which there was but the next morning came a phone call from Nikos to say he had found us a car and they could bring it round (which saved us the bother) our grandchildren couldn't wait to go get the eggs from the chicken coup which were plentiful, as was the fruit on the trees. Nikos was wonderful and the accommodation more than we expected.
Outstanding Greek Retreat!
My family and I stayed at The Olive Yard for two weeks, and we returned home only 5 days ago. We can honestly say that it was by far the best holiday we have ever had! My partner and I decided to get married in Rhodes, and decided on the Olive Yard as our accommodation because of the authentic Greek feel which was portrayed in the photographs. It by far exceeded everything we could have dreamed of and more!
The Olive Yard is like a home from home, and we had an extremely comfortable stay. Nikos is a wonderful host; on our arrival we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes and as it was night time, the whole place was lit up beautifully. Nikos took the liberty of providing a delicious platter of food for us (because we came in on a late flight) which was really well received! The Olive Yard is surrounded by beautiful flowers, fruit tree's ,Olive tree's, and wildlife. Behind the house is a vegetable patch and herb garden, and we enjoyed searching for strawberries each day with the children. There is also chickens on the land, and Nikos welcomes his visitors to collect eggs at their leisure. The outdoor area is superb! The pool is glorious and refreshing, and there is a wonderful decking area with outdoor seating under a canopy which is equipped with a sound system and lighting .. the perfect setting for a little party! There is a fabulous bbq area, a swing for the children, a little hammock, an outdoor bed, and also a pond with a water fountain. The detail in the house and the exterior is superb, and every day I spotted something interesting and different to look at. What was extra special for me, is that I had my pre-wedding photographs taken here, and I can honestly say that and they are stunning! What I will say is, I would suggest hiring a car as Rhodes has so much beauty to offer and the Olive Yard is the perfect location for exploring! Kalithea is less than 10 mins away and there are some fantastic private beaches dotted around the place. Faliraki is also close by, and is somewhere we enjoyed many a good meal! Rhodes town is an experience within itself and the architecture took my breath away. We are so pleased that we booked to stay at the Olive Yard and we hope we can return for our anniversary, hopefully our first one! :)
beautiful family lovely children. I will like to see you back one day to my house. Thank you that you chose to make your marriage to my house. See you soon
We booked Olive Yard House for our Honeymoon and couldn't have made a better choice for peace and tranqility privacy, quality , character and earthiness. This place is beautiful and rustic.
The owner Nikos and his Mother are 2 of the nicest, kind, warm people you will meet in Rhodes.
The property is better than it looks in the gallery.
Everything mentioned in the itenery and more. Every gadget or utensil is there.
This is truly THE hidden gem. Perfect in every way.
We had a tearful goodbye but will definitely revisit.
Just book and enjoy.
