Wonderful stay, responsive owner
Wonderful property accurately depicted in listing (kitchen was better, actually). Don was responsive & patient at all times including while VRBO resolved issues with their reservation system (not his fault). Had everything we could have wanted with many thoughtful touches. Enjoyed kayaking, swimming, & the nearby state forest. Very comfortable for a group of five to vacation together. Highly recommend.

The house was very nice. The photos don't do it justice. Was perfect for us and the access and views to the water were fantastic. Don was a very responsive and helpful host. Would definitely stay again.

Thank You!
My family had a wonderful few days on the lake in this charming and spacious lake house. The house is located on a beautiful part of the lake and the playground in the front yard is perfect for kids.

I am a medical professional who splits his time between Boston and the Berkshires. I'm based in Boston, but I needed a second house for when I'm in the Berkshires. Since I'm only here part time, it only makes sense to share my house with others when I'm not around. This is a house which begs to be shared, It has a particular beauty, the setting is amazing, and the inside is warm and cozy.

Why they chose this property

This house is the culmination of my three year search for the perfect lake house! Lakefront properties don't come up for sale very often, and when they do there are often problems. Either the house is too far from the lake, or the waterfront is a steep slope or a muddy swamp, perhaps the house itself is merely a cottage, or worse a menagerie of poorly done additions. It may be in a location which is difficult to access, or have an industry next door. I can't remember the number of questionable properties I've looked at, before finding this one, which I affectionately call "Pontoosuc Shore."
From when I first pulled into the driveway I was smitten by this quaint and beautiful home , with its quintessential setting, and deep water lake front location. Gorgeous fenced in yard and mature platings with outbuildings. A fantasy image from a postcard, come to life.
Inside I was overwhelmed by the eclectic decor, old fashioned fixtures, and the tasteful mix of antiques artistic touches, Stone fireplace, High ceilings, and a palate of soothing colors. The lay out was practical made efficient use of space, and the new additions blended perfectly with the original house, enhancing the property. Modern amenities and old fashioned decor mixed perfectly. A modern house with a grandmother's influence!
