About this property

Fire Island Getaway-Weeks/Midweeks/Weekends-100 yards to Beach! FAMILY-FRIENDLY!

Bright & airy, fully-equipped 3-bedroom house with two decks (one with a huge cedar outdoor shower) and a balcony deck - 100 yards to the Beach! Our clean, comfy bungalow is in the nicest, family-friendliest section of Ocean Bay Park (close to Seaview) and is only 6 houses from the OCEAN!

Monthly, full-week, midweek & weekend rentals are available from April through November. Long weekends are available for holidays.

The house sleeps up to 6 and has 2 bathrooms, 1 with a shower. FULL-HOUSE AIR CONDITIONING for the summer season, as well as screened windows, ceiling and wall-mounted fans. One downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. The upstairs bedroom has a private bathroom, queen bed, wraparound windows and double French doors that lead to a private balcony deck. There is a front deck for picnic dining and grilling, and a large rear deck with lounge chairs surrounded by tall bamboo and holly trees.

The house comes with a Weber BBQ (propane included), bicycles, wagon, beach gear, games, toys, etc.!

We are in the quieter area, with mostly families and homeowners. We rent to families and MELLOW, mature groups who are OK with our STRICT house and community noise rules. Parties are not allowed!! Minimum age to book is 25.

Beach house during the Nor'easter

Our stay was comfortable and enjoyable despite being at the beach during the Nor'easter in October. The owners were responsive and made sure we had heaters to keep us warm. The house is rustic and simple and the master bedroom is comfortable and cozy. Good wifi.

Great beach house

Great house, close to the beach with everything you need! Chris provided bikes, towels, and a wagon to help carry everything. The house is very close to the ferry stop, and you can walk to local bars and markets easily. Beds are no frills, but not a problem at all. Highly recommend!

Great Classic Fire Island

We enjoyed our stay at this house. Chris was super responsive and made things really easy to stay at the property. The info he sent ahead of time, made the research you needed to do for your upcoming trip obsolete. The house was a tad dated and bare bones but was a classic Fire Island beach house, don't expect anything fancy. It is what it is. The location was fantastic, the neighborhood great and would definitely stay here again. It was clean and adequately equipped, we would have enjoyed a few updates (kitchen equipment, beach stuff, outdoor furniture) for the price you pay for a rental there but if that is not important to you - it is not an issue. We had a great time!

We are long-time homeowners. I am a life-long member of the community and an officer and 40-year member of the Ocean Bay Park Fire Department.

Why they chose this property

I grew up coming to the island, staying in a house a block away from this house - where my kids have been coming since they were born. I have friends in many other Fire Island communities, and feel strongly that we have found the best spot - close to stores, restaurants and nature walks, but also quiet, uncrowded and unique in many ways. The friends I grew up with moved to California and Boston, but still come out every summer with their kids and stay at their families' houses - all within a few blocks of each other. Some of our guests have been renting from us since their kids were babies, and keep coming back, joined by their now grown-up kids.
So yeah, I think this must be the place!

What makes this property unique

The house is a simple, classic Fire Island bungalow design that has been lovingly updated with modern amenities, an upstairs addition and balcony deck. We meticulously maintain the property, along with the property manager and cleaning contractor, who has been working with us for over 25 years.
