About this property

Spectacular Waterfront Home in the Mountains. Welcome to Green Valley Lodge!

This gorgeous custom waterfront rental home on a small two acre lake offers recreational opportunities unparalleled in Colorado! The property features a beach, swimming, and exceptional trophy trout fishing (catch and release, single hook barbless), and includes the use of two kayaks, a canoe and a fishing boat with an electric motor. Wildlife and beautiful abound, and the views are spectacular. The property is still close to Denver and world famous Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater, yet it will feel like you are a world away in this magical lakeside paradise!

Weddings:

We offer the property as a wedding venue for up to 60 persons at an added fee of $3800. The lakeside lawn with its water and mountain views makes for a gorgeous ceremony vista, while the great room and surrounding deck on three sides is perfect for receptions. If you are considering a wedding, please inquire before booking. Likewise, if your desired dates show as booked, feel free to inquire, because we block some dates for family use but can often make them available for weddings. We work with a number of different wedding coordinators in the area, and also regularly host DIY weddings working with local rental companies. It’s an absolutely beautiful setting and property for a destination wedding! PLEASE NOTE that to abide by the VRBO booking policies, we will first book your stay through VRBO, and then do a separate agreement for the wedding. Booking with the intent of a wedding requires that you agree to these terms.

Many of our guests stay to do a classic Colorado duo - taking in a concert at the world famous Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater while enjoying the mountains. Just a 15 minute drive away, Red Rocks is a MUST if you love live music. Set in an incredible natural amphitheater cut into red stone cliffs on three sides and a view of the Denver skyline in the distance, many a magical night of music takes place at Red Rocks . Some of the best bands around choose to do Redrocks even though it's a more intimate venue, because the experience is just that special for performers and concert goers alike!

Newly built in 2018, the home is a custom marvel, featuring custom log and stone work and a huge wrap around deck with an outdoor covered lounge area and hot tub. The great room is spacious and surrounded by windows and glass doors to give the effect of being outside while being in. The reclaimed wood dining table can be expanded to seat 10. A grand piano and double sided fireplace add charm and coziness to your stay. Like the living room, the adjoining dining room and kitchen have huge windows offering views of the lake or views of the creek and horse property next door. The vaulted family room upstairs features incredible views, a ping-pong table, Xbox and television and a pull out sectional sofa.

For those who enjoy fishing, our catch and release trout fishing truly is something special. The majority of your fish will be rainbows, with occasional fish as large as 24". There are trophy brown trout in the mix as well. In summer fish readily rise to large dry flies, and fish can always be caught stripping a bead head wooly bugger. If you spin fish we ask that you convert small spoons and spinners to single hook barbless, which we have on hand for you to use. Please do not use bait. The fishing can be incredible, and it's a fantastic place to teach a your children how to fish, as success rates are often high.

If you enjoy watching wildlife, the hot tub, swing chair and rocking chairs are our favorite places to sit in the sun and take in the local fauna. Deer frequent the yard, waterfowl are abundant, song birds and hummingbirds abound, and elk, foxes, coyotes, bear, moose and an eagle are occasionally spotted.

Horseback riding at Bear Mountain Stables is just a short walk from the home, and some of the best white water rafting in Colorado is just 35 minutes away on Clear Creek. We recommend Clear Creek Rafting Company. You can also float tube at the South Platte below Decker's for a leisurely but fun and free outing (we have tubes you can borrow, bring a cooler with some lunch and bevs of choice!).

There are also exceptional hiking opportunities literally at you doorstop in the Beaver Ranch Open Space, or for the more adventurous, you can hike the Continental Divide near Bailey. Beaver Ranch also features disk golf you can walk to as well as zip lining. You can also disk golf at the nationally acclaimed Phantom Falls Disk Golf Course in Pine (reservations only).

The area also offers exceptional stream fly fishing at famous locales including the South Platte in Cheeseman Canyon and at Deckers, the private waters of Boxwood Gulch or Long Meadow Ranch, or a little further down the road, the Dream Stream, 11 Mile Canyon or the Blue River.

Local haunts that are GREAT to visit include the famous Bucksnort, a turn of the century bar and restaurant on the way to Pine, charming historic downtown Evergreen with its board walk and Evergreen Lake, and some good restaurants such Snowpack Taphouse, Brooks Place and Ebony and Vine in Conifer.

If you're a golfer, the Evergreen Golf Course is beautiful, though elk in the fairway are par for the course. Of course, if relaxing is more your style, The Tall Grass Spa in Evergreen is wonderful, and popular waterside restaurants like Willow Creek and Creekside Cellars invite.

Winter and Christmas stays offer ice skating, ice fishing, fly fishing and ice hockey. The home is decked out for Christmas and is as cozy as can be!

If you desire to take in a little city life during your stay, beyond Redrocks, Denver is a short hop away. Broncos Stadium is only 40 minutes away, and Coors Field just a few minutes further. Likewise, Denver's famed walking street, 16th Street Mall, is only about a half an hour drive. The Denver Center for Performing Arts, Denver Art Museum and The Museum of Contemporary Art and the Denver Aquarium are all about a 35 to 40 minute drive. We are near it all yet away from it all at the same time!

You'd be hard pressed to find a property offering what ours does, and we are glad to offer it. We trust you'll love the lake and mountain experience, the beauty of the area and of the home, and the fun-filled activity right at your doorstep!

Paradise

This property was so incredible in so many ways. My family and I had an incredible time enjoying all the wonderful features and serenity with the location. We’ve had the opportunity to stay at many properties around the world and this one definitely is special. The owners were more than accommodating at our every request and the memories that we shared will be forever.

Wildlife abundance

We had the best time. The owners were always available and were so helpful! The house was amazing and the deer were so curious and aplenty. We had the best time! We loved the property and the drive around the neighborhood was beautiful. An hour drive from Denver and an hour and a 1/2 to 2 hours from Colorado Springs and Breckenridge. Perfect location and so peaceful.

What a dream property!

This home was a beautiful space for our family to get away and spend time together. The main floor is surrounded by beautiful views of nature seen through the walls of glass. There are so many areas to sit and relax, from the living room to the outside entertainment areas. We saw wildlife everyday. The lake was perfect for some time on the water with lots of fish and clear water. The home itself was perfect, with a fantastic kitchen and the perfect loft for the kids to play at. We look forward to staying here again.

Magical Colorado Home

Our group really enjoyed our stay here. The listing is accurate, the house was clean, and everything we needed was there! We had a great time staying indoors on the snowy/cold days playing board games, ping pong, and darts. Enjoying the hot tub while taking in the view was also a huge bonus. But when we wanted to go out, we found that the house is close to lots of great hiking spots and an easy drive into Denver. There's also a neat pinball arcade right in town that we recommend checking out! Communicating with Arie was easy and he was quick to respond whenever I had a question. He was respectful and very accommodating. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone interested!

Amazing get away for a perfect wedding

This property is gorgeous. We enjoyed every single moment inside your beautiful property. The cleaning lady, (Forgot her name!) was an absolute charm and helped us with some final details for the wedding with some canopy tents. Our only regret is that Conifer had large cold front move in the day of our wedding, so we had to move our event inside last minute. Our small 40 person wedding turned out beautiful regardless however and I couldn't have asked for a more intimate venue to get married in. The property was clean, decorated, and hanging flowers all over to enjoy. Every sunrise was a must-see experience. We don't think the pictures really do it justice. We hope someday to be able to convince some friends to re-join us here and re-experience such a beautiful part of CO and our Country. The owners were very responsive and communicative. It really felt like it was prepped for us like a gamily cabin would be for family.

Perfect Wedding Location

We had our small wedding on Arie’s property and it was gorgeous!! We even had afternoon showers and somehow it made the cabin even moreeee beautiful. Arie was in contact with us the whole time and willing to get us whatever we needed. Our family loved getting on the lake and fishing- we caught a few rainbow trout and grilled burgers on Saturday night. There’s just so much to do at this cabin we didn’t want to leave!

Amazing

The entire experience was truly amazing. The pictures of the house do not do it justice. Our family of six was beyond comfortable and we had plenty of space. Location was great close enough to Denver for a day visit but far enough to be in nature and away from the city. There is so much to do just at the house and most days we did not feel like we had to leave for the following reasons: 1-Kayaking in private lake 2-Kids used the canoe 3-Paddle Board (much harder than kids make it look) 4-Little fishing boat and plenty of rainbow trout to catch 5-Nearby ranch for horse back riding 6-Amazing outdoor space with fireplace and TV (we did a movie night outside) 7-Hot tub early in the morning or later in the evening was perfect 8-Plenty of outside games The list could truly go on. House is plenty stocked and very open and great stone features inside. It was extremely hard leaving this house. We love Colorado and enjoyed this property! Communication with ARIE was also great and they have some wonderful recommendations.

AMAZING Family Vacation Home

The property pictures and description are all that and more. We could have easily been content never leaving the property; the lake, yard games, and house amenities ensured that all ages always had something to do. We did venture out for a hike, trail ride and zip lining and the proximity of all these options made them even more enjoyable. The owners were highly responsive to all of our questions before, during, and after our stay. Our family is already planning for when we can do this again!

Beautiful place with great energy

Our hosts went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable vacation. The house and grounds are even more spectacular than the pictures. We were there with out son and daughter in law and we all were so comfortable and felt at home. The inside and outside are equally comfortable. The deer that come up to the house are so stimulating to watch and make you feel one with nature. The birds are spectacular. There is a great grocery 5 minutes away Safeway that will surprise you with all the amenities and fresh and organic food. We were so relaxed and happy the entire time. Views from every room. When in Colorado it will always be our go to place. You won’t be disappointed but exceed your expectations. Felt very blessed to enjoy this zen place with great energy. Can’t wait to go back and miss it all ready. So many games amd fun things to do . Totally recommend We are from Florida and definitely worth the long trip. Sincere thanks to the family that shared their beautiful home. LaDonna

Breathtaking

This house is beautiful! Breathtaking views, plenty of space, extremely well equipped with everything you need (including heated floors). The house is located in a great location close enough to amenities (grocery store, fitness center, restaurants, hiking trails, national parks, Red Rocks and Evergreen) but far enough away to feel very private. This home has so many features to list but some of our favorites were the massive deck, trout fishing, hot tub, outdoor/indoor fireplace, hammock/swing, and the living room doors that opened completely to both sides, providing unobstructed views of the lake, mountains, and wildlife. The wildlife is abundant but we especially enjoy the deers coming right up to the wrap-around deck each morning and evening without a care in the world. There is also a large dining table inside plus plenty of tables and seating outside which accommodated everyone at meals. There was plenty to do inside when it snow. There are plenty of board games, a ping pong table, Xbox, a piano and ample places for relaxation or reading your favorite book. The owners were responsive, kind, attentive and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our annual family vacation at this home. We had family members that consisted of 70 years old to 8-year-old and there was never a dull moment and plenty of room for everyone. Thank you to Arie and his family for sharing their home with us, we can't wait to come back!

Amazing vacation home

We traveled from NC for our first time to Colorado. The home is just as beautiful as the pictures on VRBO. We saw deer daily by the lake, and one day a moose. This property is in an excellent location to explore some amazing sites in Colorado. We made a day trip to Mt. Evans (14K+ feet) where we experienced 38 degrees in July, mtn goats, bighorn sheep and amazing views. Another day trip was to Monument Rock, Pikes Peak and the US Air Force Academy. We went to 2 Colorado Rockies games (about 40-45 minutes to Coors Field). Another afternoon was spent in Evergreen at the lake at Dedisse Park paddle boating & paddle boarding (20 minute drive from the house). We made 2 day trips to the South Platte River to fish (only about 30 miles to excellent river access, ~45-50 minute drive) and spent the rest of our time at the private lake catching about 8 trout per day - catch & release, fish up to 2 feet in length!! We did two trail rides on horseback at Bear Mountain Stables (a 1/2 mile walk from the house). Our kids enjoyed canoeing & kayaking in the lake. Evenings were spent relaxing by the fireplace in the outdoor entertainment area & hot tub. This is by far the best property we have stayed at with VRBO and highly recommend this vacation spot.

April and I adore our home, the fly fishing and the waterside living, and have elected to share our home for just a few prime weeks this summer. Our hope is that you will have a wonderful and magical stay!

Why they chose this property

There is no property like this anywhere in the area, as a small, private lake is extremely rare in Colorado! Catching trout, taking a paddle or going for a swim right at your doorstep is icing on the cake,
