Apartment was not the one advertised on website
The biggest complaint is that the unit wasn’t the apartment featured in the pictures! The pics were of a different unit and very misleading. Two of the VRBO pictures make it look like it was a second floor unit. Additionally, it wasn’t made clear how to get to the unit. Google location was provided, but how to get to the unit wasn’t very clear. It’s challenging with a car because you need to get as close as possible so as to reduce the walk with heavy suitcases. We should have been told you could enter the limited traffic zone for drop-off. The A/C wasn’t working and it was close to 90 degrees, they came to fix it after we complained. Worst of all, the apartment smelled of humidity/mildew, like a an old basement. It was particularly noticeable in the laundry room next to the master bedroom. The furniture was cheap and old. The beds were subpar as were the pillows. The kitchen utensils were poor, and the patio furniture was an afterthought. The Nespresso machine worked only if you held down the lid.
The positives were the immediate access to the beach, the internet worked well and the bathroom was fine. This is a missed opportunity, the unit could have been great if someone paid attention to details and actually advertised the correct unit. We didn’t make a huge stink because we wanted to enjoy our vacation and focus on the charm of Tamariu Beach and its surroundings. I can’t recommend the place without it getting some needed TLC and accurate advertising.
