If you don't care about cleanliness and are looking for something affordable and spacious then this is your house. The only complaint that I have is that the house was extremely dirty and things needed to be fixed or should I say maintained on the house because it is an older house. The house itself is in a good location the neighborhood for us wasn't an issue some people might think that it was unsafe but it really wasn't, all the local people were extremely nice. I'm not sure if the owners clean the house themselves or have people come clean but it was extremely dusty and the floors were sticky and gross. Honestly it really just needed a company to come in and deep deep clean it as well as fix some things cosmetically.
We are located close to the city center and as explained in our listing.
We run a 5star property but you cannot please everyone even if we make every effort to try.

Decent value for the price
Overall, we had a nice stay, but the description oversells the home. It was very low on price in comparison to other properties in the area and had the following highlights:
1.) 100 year old house with older updates, poorly maintained building exterior, landscaping, and porches. There are unsafe wiring installations. (front foyer light, etc.)
2.) No cooling on third floor central room
3.) No driveway, street parking only on poorly lit street in older neighborhood (This was known at the time of booking, but without streetlights it didn't feel safe. We made arrangements with an adjacent commercial property to safely park our cars.)
4.) Priced accurately based on condition
Overall the place looks tidy and styled when you just walk in. BUT!!!!! Oh boy it was dusty!!! NOT ONLY! Third floor had some RACOON or huge RATS in the walls running around at night and nobody could fall asleep, totally CRAZY!! Also no heat third floor, it was freezing.
It had safety issues with the light switch lt was totally ripped apart from the wall and we had to use it. Everything was super dusty, the stairs were covered in all kinds of hairs, Kitchen floor was not swept, bathrooms have no fan. Towels were stained, had to go out and buy new towels. One thing was good that the bed sheets were clean thank God! This place needs some DEEP DEEP cleaning done not just styling it with decent decor and calling it clean!!! Also the street the house is on is pretty ghetto and unsafe looking. The owner told us it's all not true about the place and refused to give us money back when we just got there and saw the mess. KEEP AWAY!

Adequate but not spectacular
Pros: centrally located, clean sheets toilets and sinks, tasteful decor.
Cons: not well stocked (only one trash bag, shower soaps empty etc), very dusty, furniture old (holes in couch), raccoon living in wall, and vrbo contact did not respond to questions while we were staying.
We rented the house for two families visiting the Ark Encounter. There are 12 people in our group. The house looks dated and small from the outside but is clean and comfortable inside. The parents stayed in the two bedrooms on the second floor and the 8 children on their own up on the third. We were able to prepare our own breakfast and dinner in the kitchen and eat together in the dining room.
Great space for 8 people to spread out and sleep comfortably...property manager made things easy and convenient on us. House had all we needed for our stay-fun time!

There's also plenty of bars nearby and you can catch free, open-air entertainment every night of the week at Fountain Square, which also has its own seasonal skating rink.
