Whitetail Ridge: Lakefront Home, FREE Wi-Fi/Firewood, Generator, No Cleaning Fee
WHITETAIL RIDGE
Welcome to our newly constructed Whitetail Ridge lakefront vacation home with panoramic views of beautiful Lost Lake in Vilas County. Lost Lake is a 550 acre, full recreational lake and is considered a hidden gem, yet only five minutes north of Saint Germain.
This 2200 sq. ft. home (with an additional 140 sq. ft. screen porch) was designed so you can vacation in style and will comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests with the 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths and spacious, open kitchen/dining/great room gathering area.
As you enter, you’ll be welcomed with warm and inviting rustic North woods décor including vaulted ceilings with natural wood finishes and a heartwarming, stone front, gas fireplace. You’ll enjoy the stunning lake views through the extensive, lakeside windows.
The well-appointed kitchen features beautiful, rustic hickory cabinets, a center island, pantry cabinet, high-end appliances including a built-in dishwasher and microwave.
Enjoy the 3-season porch that allows for bug-free happy hours and game playing or the large deck if you prefer to gather outside.
The home is equipped with a backup generator so no need to worry about power outages during your stay.
An aluminum row boat is provided with this rental property. The boat is licensed so you are able to bring/rent a motor for it, if you'd like. You're also welcome to use the 4 kayaks w/paddles and the paddle boat (shared use with our Gone Fish Inn cabin next door). Possible pontoon boat available to rent during your stay...Inquire if available. Enjoy the many bike trails with the tandem bike located in the garage. You'll want to bring your own helmets.
Whitetail Ridge is located on both the UTV/ATV trails and the Bo-Boen Snowmobile Trail. Our winter guests can directly access the lake from the property when heading out snowmobiling or ice fishing. The Bo-Boen Snowmobile Trail crosses over Lost Lake so you're able to connect to it nearby on the lake or right at the end of our road. You can also sled into town or head north to connect to hundreds of miles of groomed trails throughout the Northwoods.
Guests who enjoy fishing will appreciate the remodeled fish cleaning house next door with it's 10' stainless steel sink and running water. It's available to our guests all year round...whether fishing in the summer or ice fishing during the winter season.
Have a large group wanting to rent? In addition to our Whitetail Ridge vacation home, we also own the property next door…Gone Fish Inn (completely remodeled in 2019) and Otter Place (completely remodeled in 2025).
We have been vacationing at Lost Lake for many years with family and friends and hope you’ll make this your home away from home destination for years to come.

Our stay was so relaxing and all six of us loved everything about the week. Although the weather didn’t cooperate as much as we would have liked we still found lots to do in the area: biking, shopping, hiking, kayaking. The house had everything we needed and we ended up only going out for three meals the whole week because the kitchen was great and we enjoyed cooking together.
This is a very nice house in a great location with a great view of the lake. The owners were very accommodating and helpful, and the ameneties included are great (rowboat, kayaks, firewood). I would definitely stay here again.
My family visited Saint Germain for a long weekend in October. The lake house is beautiful, spacious, and well-stocked. Our kids loved the bunk room in the basement, fishing off the dock, and relaxing on the swing and by the fire pit. The owners had great communication and we look forward to visiting again next fall!
Our family group of 8 had a fantastic time at this property. We loved the house as it was clean and big enough for all of us. We snowmobiled and enjoyed the winter outdoors.
The house was just perfect for our family that consisted of 6 adults and 5 kids. It is spacious, clean and cozy. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook every meal, you just need to bring the food. We went ice fishing every day and with it being right on the lake and with so many lakes surrounding the area it was ideal. The owners are fabulous and respond very quickly to any questions.
Everything was great. Al and Debbie communicated and helped me find a boat rental and fishing guide.

They thought of everything! Absolutely perfect location for our snowmobile trip! And super easy to find coming across the lake with a brught light by the property! Great communication with the owner's!
We had a wonderful experience in this beautiful and spacious home located on Lost Lake. The kitchen was large and very accommodating for preparing Thanksgiving dinner. The home is everything we hoped it would be for our family gathering. We had a great time!
The house was nicer than the pictures, and even though there wasn’t snow to go snowmobiling as planned, Al and Debbie gave us a large list of other things to do! Had an amazing time and we will most definitely be back!
The property itself is immaculate inside and outside. Located within 5 miles in any direction are shopping, restaurants, supper clubs and more.
We were there for the fishing and didn’t take advantage of much, but this is an ideal family location as well. Fall was in full color and wildlife was out in abundance.
Great place and friendly hosts.
We loved everything about this property! So much space for everyone and all of the amenities you’d need! We loved all of the supplies in the kitchen. It was nice to not have to worry about bringing anything for cooking. Everything was very clean and well kept! We are hoping to come back next year!!
We had a wonderful time at this lake home! The house was very clean, new, and fully stocked. The kids loved taking the paddleboat out and the adults loved kayaking. Love the seating outside and the fire pit - we had a campfire every night (loved that firewood was provided). All the Northwoods decor was fantastic. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation here!
Excellent house. A total of 8 stayed at the house and there was plenty of room. Garage use was very nice as most places don’t allow access to the garage. I would definitely recommend this house to others.
Our stay at Whitetail Ridge was amazing. It was our annual family cabin weekend and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The house was furnished very nicely and stocked with everything you would need to make your stay comfortable. The outside was just as nice from the firepit for smores making to the great lake and sandy beach the kids had the best time. Wouldn't change a thing!
We stayed one week at this beautiful property with our family of 6 adults & 4 children (6 - 11). There was so much to do!! Adults relaxed while kids played from morning to night in the water with kayaks, paddleboat, rowboat & a standup paddleboard we rented. It was just what everyone needed during this pandemic!!!
We stayed for a snowmobile trip however there was no snow. We brought ATV’s, went ice fishing and played around on the ice. The property was fantastic and the house was amazing. This house handled 10 of us plus local friends that stopped for visits while we were there. The property owners were fantastic and extremely easy to get a hold of. I would stay again in a heart beat.
This property was exceptional!!! Very well kept, super clean and stocked with all of the items needed for the stay. The use of the garage space was nice for the extra boating and fishing gear. Great fish cleaning house! Fire pit and fire wood included. Beautiful screen room and outdoor space with sandy beach area and dock space. Can't say enough good things about this property and the owners.
There is more than just the location, stunning home and its' amenities. Al and Deb put a lot of energy using their professional and personal giftings renting and maintaining this property. The furnishings and staging of the decor was exquisite. The only negative was having to leave it. What a blessing!
Whitetail Ridge was a perfect place for a fall getaway. The house was beautiful, the lake view was stunning, and the property was well taken care of. Al and Debbie, the owners, thought of everything when designing the home: Huge windows for taking in the view, well-placed deck and screened-in porch, top-tier kitchen appliances, comfortable furniture, focal-point fireplace, well-stocked kitchen, stacked firewood by the pier pit, etc. They also were welcoming, accommodating, and delightful to work with. Whitetail Ridge was also pet-friendly! We will return!
8 of us stayed at Whitetail Ridge for a guys/dads weekend getaway. The property was beautiful, spacious and definitely exceeded expectations. There was more than enough seating, dining and bed space for all 8. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes and utensils and we quite enjoyed being able to put our food in the large pantry and two refrigerators. The lake view was absolutely gorgeous full of loons, bald eagles and ducks with the front yard full of deer! The boat launch is conveniently right across the bay although we even had a musky hit casting off the dock! When we weren’t sitting around the beautiful indoor fireplace watching playoff sports the benches around the fire pit kept us warm lakeside (and did I mention they offer complementary wood)! The house was in the perfect location only a 5 minute drive to town. The check in/check out process was seamless and Al & Debbie were very responsive to any question we had. It was the perfect weekend and we will definitely be back.
We had an absolutely terrific experience staying at this AMAZING property! From the moment you arrive, you know you are in "The Northwoods". The house is beautiful inside and out. You walk in and the first thing you see is the wall of windows with breathtaking lake views! The kitchen was super-organized, had plenty of room for food storage (YAY!), neatly labeled shelves, a large table and that island were great for prepping, eating, congregating, and playing games. There was an extra fridge in the super spacious and clean garage, loads of wall hooks and a protective mat for those snowmobilers! The beds were comfortable, plenty of extra blankets if needed, and the rooms all had big closets, no problems with storage or comfort. Main living space furniture were all reclining, some even with charging ports, super convenient for everyone to find a place to charge up. The outdoor space was lovely, the fire pit with wood provided was AWESOME! Boats and kayaks provided were a huge plus for us, we even used the jon boat with a locally-rented outboard as the owners suggested! The water was so clear, you could see the bottom for a ways out from shore. Oh, did I mention the absolutely freaking STUNNING VIEWS!?!? Every day we were in awe of our breathtaking surroundings. The local wildlife was prevalent and we had deer in the yard several mornings, saw porcupine nearby, and there was eagle-spotting galore. Binoculars provided were a great resource that everyone enjoyed. We hit many of the abundant hiking trails and basked in the incredible autumn majesty of the surroundings. The owners were accessible, attentive, helpful and have an absolutely wonderful place that is truly one of the best VRBO stays we have ever had. Everything was great, we could not have hoped for a better experience. To say "Highly Recommended" would be an understatement. Top marks!
