Sunrises are amazing at the beach... tide is on it's way out....
Looking out from the veranda. FYI, deer do come onto the property frequently.

About this property

Beachfront cottage right on Kye Bay, Comox

Imagine having the Pacific Ocean on your doorstep, a private yard shouldered by large fir trees, where you can enjoy the ocean from the living room couch, the sofa on the covered veranda, or sit at the edge of the property and watch all the action Mother Nature and the ocean brings: …amazing sunsets…sunrises…eagles…herons…seals, etc.. Adventure onto the sand during a lower tide and venture out onto the rocky shellfish reef for fresh oysters & clams. Or just wander along water's edge as the tide moves in and out feeling the restorative benefits of nature in all its splendor.

Winter time is a special time at the beach where major storms can arrive on a moments notice, with driving wind, sometimes rain, and often waves where a new occurrence has recently been taking place – some of the locals have taken up surfing. After every storm the beach always goes through dramatic change. Heavy lines of seaweed often embrace the shoreline. New driftwood comes ashore, and the sandy reefs shift yet again. No question with all these continuous changes, Kye Bay is a beautiful ocean paradise with plenty to explore and witness.

The cottage is bright and cheery and is fully equipped with a queen bed in the bedroom, and a full ensuite bath/shower . The living room has a queen sofa bed. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, pots & pans.

It has high speed wifi, +700MBS.

Music. It has a SONOS music system and the best way to access it is to download the Sonos2 App, onto your phone, https://www.sonos.com/en-ca/controller-app. There are two Sonos speakers, one in the bedroom and one in the living room that the Sonos app is configured with so you can connect directly to Spotify giving you an abundance of music choices.

Other music options: in the bedroom there is a Bose system, the on/off switch is on the back of the woofer on the right side night table, and the control for plugging in and volume control is also on the right side night table. In the living room, the big speaker in the corner is blue tooth friendly as well as can be run via a patch cord to your phone.

It has a wood burning stove to create that cozy ambiance, luring you into opening up your favourite book, while cuddled up in an authentic Alpacha blanket. It's the perfect moment to unwind.

If you're interested in doing some exploring or other adventures, there is fantastic mountain biking in Cumberland, plus it’s a pretty cool little town to explore with a few cottage brewerys and interesting restaurants too. If you want to try out kite surfing or wind surfing, Goose Spit gets some amazing winds - you might even see some kite surfers here at Kye Bay too when the wind comes up. There's also an Airforce Museum that you can explore. If you heart is into cross country, snow shoeing or downhill skiing check out Mtn Washington about 40 minutes away – it gets more snow than the mountains on the mainland generally.

Hi there! I always find coming to the beach a very restorative experience and am happy to be able to now share this with others. There is just something about the water and wide open views that is very calming. I love hosting people here in the hopes that they too will find their respite here. That they too love the beauty of what nature can bring to us regardless if it's sunny, windy, rainy, or a dead calm grayish day where there isn't barely a ripple in the vast amount of water at the doorstep. It is breathtaking!

Why they chose this property

Funny I started coming to this beach in my late teenage years and always loved it here. To be able to find a property on the beach and give that same experience to my two children and allow them to experience beach life was and still is very rewarding.

What makes this property unique

There is just something about being able to sit at the kitchen table or on the sofa and look out across the yard into the vastness of the ocean that is truly peaceful.

The beach in front of the cottage is predominately all sand, so if you feel so inclined an ocean dip is an awesome way to feel invigorated, dive in first and then either crouch or sit on the sand and let the cold crisp water in the winter season envelop you up to your neck.
