Point Park, at the top of Lookout Mountain includes several Civil War memorials and an interpretive center. The area has long, rich history dating back thousands of years to the early Cherokee people who called the mountain Chat-a-nu-ga, the city's namesake.
You’ll have the two upper floors of the Chalet, both inside and outside spaces, as well as the back deck hot tub to yourself during your stay.

The ground floor of the Chalet serves as the pool house and is shared with guests of the May Family Home and the Blue House. The pool area and all pool amenities are also shared with those two properties.

The Chalet is located on the edge of Wauhatchie Woodlands, a 14-acre property surrounded by National Forest. Guests have access to trails around the grounds, as well as shared pavilions, community fire pits, and playground. Please be respectful of other guests during your stay.
Please note: Pets are not allowed at this property. Please ask about our pet-friendly properties if you want to travel with a pet.

Skyuka Chalet is part of Wauhatchie Woodlands, a collection of quaint, tiny-home, rustic-comfort log cabins on a 14-acre wooded property surrounded by National Park land. The property is owned and operated by Timberroot, a small, family-owned business that specializes in creating rustic spaces that allow you to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature.

This unique craftsman home overlooks the Tennessee river and is surrounded by National Forest. The Chalet features a wrap-around deck with a private hot tub and can comfortably sleep up to 6 guests. The compound features a shared resort-style pool and patio with a fire pit and outdoor dining area.

Please note that we are not an event space. The pool area is shared with two other homes, and parties are not allowed.
This natural setting is nested less than a mile from the city with quick access to downtown Chattanooga, Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain, and the surrounding area.

Our custom-designed Chalet combines imagination, modernity, and a woodsy rustic feel that organically compliments the natural setting.

The Chalet is reached via Trammell Lane, where you'll find two private parking spaces.

On the ground level you'll find your lower deck with a private hot tub. Upstairs, the great room features an open floor plan with vaulted all-wood ceilings and dynamic lighting. The space included a full-service kitchen, dining area, sofas, and a Smart TV. The main bedroom with direct access to the bathroom is just off the great room.

A spiral staircase leads up to the unique lookout loft furnished with bunk beds, a striking surround of high windows, and a crown vaulted ceiling.

The "cubby nook" features a double bed and Smart TV. Please note the nook has a low ceiling and might be too cramped for an adult to sleep, but the space is perfect for kids.

The main deck wraps around the entire home, offering views over the pool, forest, and river. The large back deck features an outdoor dining area with seating for six and deep seating for relaxing.

The Chalet is in a compound with two other homes, the May Family Home and the Blue House. The homes share a stunning, heated resort-style pool with an expansive flagstone patio. On the patio, you'll find lounge seating, an outdoor fireplace, and an outdoor kitchen with a covered dining pavilion (guests must provide their own, firewood, charcoal and propane.)

The pool is closed during winter, typically from October to March.

The ground floor of the Chalet serves as the poolhouse for all three properties. Guests have access to a shared washer and dryer, a workout room, poolside showers, and toilets.

Good stay, but a lot of bugs inside
The Skyuka Chalet was in a great location. To park at the Chalet you need to drive down/up some steep hills, but it was doable. The host responded quickly to any messages and was friendly. The listing does mention to expect bugs, but we were expecting the occasional bug, we were not expecting so many. Upon arrival there were a lot of dead/alive stink bugs in window sills and on the floor/wall. We wished the dead stink bugs would have been vacuumed up before arrival. During our stay we also found a stink bug in my pillowcase and killed two roaches in the kitchen/dining room area. Trains do run frequently, but they did not bother our group. There is one bedroom, a loft area with a bunk bed (full bed on top, twin bed on bottom), and in the loft area there is a small door where the last bed is located in the wall.

Girls Getaway
Cute accommodations for a quick overnight girls trip. Ultra tiny bedroom (literally inside the wall) was a surprise, but a hit! Location is so incredibly close to town!

Pretty little spot
We loved the chalet and the aesthetics of it. It is NOT a true 2 bedroom though. The upstairs is an open loft area with no door. We have a 6 month old, 2 year old, and a 4 year old in tow with us. The bunk bed was a bit too high for me to feel comfortable with, but our 4 year old slept in it no problem. Also the POOL AREA is not completely fenced which is a huge hazard. This is a HUGE hazard and should be addressed by the property owner ASAP. The playground is right next to the pool and children can easily wander into the pool area very quickly even with a parent nearby. Our 2 year old made her way into the pool area twice due to this and she cannot swim. We were nearby so nothing happened but the pool should be FULLY ENCLOSED with a fence for safety purposes. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. The property is very close to Ruby Falls, Discovery Museum, Aquarium, and Rock City. The hot tub was great and the deck we enjoyed. The pool and pool deck are nice and our 4 year old loved getting in an 8 am swim. Please enclose the POOL Area before an accident happens. 4 stars for pool area needing an enclosed fence.

Family Retreat
Our family stayed at the Skyuka Chalet and the big May Family House. We also had several family members rent the small cabins during our stay. Everyone absolutely loved the property, amenities and location. The Chalet is perfect for a small family or a few friends. The pool is right at your doorstep and the community pool house under the Chalet is very convenient. We will definitely be back!
