Host profile image
In 1979, when I was 33, I envisioned I was to have a guest house in Jamaica for retirement. I came looking in 1994 and met Jah B; in 15 minutes we knew we were to be together. We married in 1996 and raised two awesome sons in Philadelphia. Then he, my King, with a contractor friend, built this 'Palace' in a safe, comfortable neighborhood. I was raised on a farm in Kansas, became Deputy Director of Mental Health in Philadelphia, then co-founder and director of a university-based multicultural training and research institute (Temple then Drexel). Now, I am happy as a writer with FunTimes Magazine celebrating the African and Caribbean Diaspora.

In August 2019, we published a memoir about our 25-year cross-cultural journey called "Loving To Be WE...Receiving Mountains as Stepping Stones to Cross the Cultural Divide Between Jamaica and the USA/Babylon," which reads like a fantasy but is real as life gets! Since helping my body rebalance and overcome a grim Stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis in just three months by April 2013 by changing my lifestyle. I became a certified Holistic Cancer Education Counselor and offer consultation while continuing my learning from others.

We enjoy meeting people and helping them experience the friendly people, culture, and beauty of Jamaica while learning about the politics and history. I've gained so much from traveling to 44 states and 24 countries and now from engaging with people from around the world who come to stay at our Topaz Dream Palace. I am blessed to have an amazing, loving husband, Jah B, who helps make it possible for me to live my dream life! You’ll find that I'm the 'Chief of Chat (Communication), Computer, and Creativity. Jah B is the quiet one, a wise and deep reasoner, and 'Chief of Chauffeuring, Cuisine, Cultivation, and Cleaning', an excellent farmer growing and supplying more and more of our organic produce. (He had a dream, as well, about a woman from a'foreign coming to uplift his family...fortunately it was me!)

Why they chose this property

We chose this location as it is friendly, safe, and close to conveniences. We look forward to hearing your stories! Do 'soon come'.
One love, Cheri and Jah B
