The 4V Cabin offers privacy, easy access, pet and horse friendly.

Perfect for those seeking a private setting with easy access to attractions in Cochise County. We are located within an easy drive for day trips to wildlife refuges, historic mining towns, national forests and state parks. Cochise County is a Hot Spot in the southwest where birders are treated to large congregations of birds and the opportunity to see many unique species and other wildlife.

For your convenience, The 4V guest cabin is fully equipped with cookware, utensils, large refrigerator, electric oven/range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and outdoor gas grill. There is also a clothes washer and dryer. The private fenced yard offers space for dogs to play, and for you to relax and watch the wildlife.

People traveling with horses are welcome to stay. We are located within a reasonable commute for day trips for trail riding and/or hiking. The property is accessible and there's room to park your truck and trailer. Horse amenities include individual corrals, arena, dry-lot turnouts with shade. There is a pet/horse fee added to the daily rate to rent the Guest Cabin. Inquire prior to reserving if you plan to bring your horses.

Discounts are available for monthly (28 days or more) or weekly (7 days minimum) rentals. The VRBO system will deduct from the daily rate and calculate for you the final discounted rate.

A few nearby attractions, that make a great day trip are the Historic Towns of Tombstone and Bisbee, Fort Bowie National Historic Site, Kartchner Caverns State Park, Cochise Stronghold (visible from the property), the nearby Amerind Foundation Museum, or the historic settlement of Fairbank.

Perfect Place

This great little guest house was truly perfect! Quiet, beautifully peaceful, lots of backyard birds to watch and enjoy. The location was ideal for our day trips to all the southern Arizona hiking and historical sites, and quite a bonus to be able to arrive "home" at the end of the day and enjoy a quiet, private meal. Hosts were so kind and not intrusive in the least. We hope to stay here again!

Beautiful getaway

Quiet Getaway

Had a wedding in the area and it was a great break from the festivities. Peaceful and relaxing. Great for a couple looking to relax after a day out in nature. Hosts very welcoming.

About the host

Hosted by Caroline McCormick

Your hosts, Caroline and Charles. Charles is a retired Natural Sciences teacher. He taught high school Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. His family has been in Arizona since late 1890's.

Caroline came to Arizona in1985 to work at Grand Canyon National Park and subsequently moved to Flagstaff, AZ and worked at Sunset Crater National Monument and Walnut Canyon National Monument. It was at Walnut Canyon that Charles and Caroline first met while they were employed as seasonal Park Rangers.

Both Caroline and Charles are alumni of Northern Arizona University.

Why they chose this property

This former ranch homestead on ten acres, has unique charm for the area. The mature Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and pine trees provide lots of shade. Anecdotal history and county records show it was first settled in 1915 and like most ranch houses it has been added to and remodeled as the family needs changed.
The mature fruit and pecan trees along with ornamental flowers and garden plots are hard to find in this area and to us are a real bonus. We love the panoramic views which are enhanced each night with beautiful sunsets. We wanted a place where we could raise a garden. In addition to the basic vegetables, Charles has started a fruit orchard.
We also wanted a property where we could ride and train our horses. There is currently a 120' x 240' arena with good sandy footing and a natural trail obstacle course on the property.

What makes this property unique

Mature Shade Trees, Horse Facilities, Guest Cabin. You will find this rural setting easy to access because we are right off of a paved road and AZ Highway 80. If you are traveling with horses and need a safe place to stop over, the ranch can accommadate you and your horses. Be sure to inquire ahead so we can prepare the corrals for your horses*. *We expect you to provide current negative Coggins test and valid Health Certificate (30 days or less) for each horse.
