Sol Mate (Recently Renovated) has been described as “the ideal vacation home” on Captiva Island, Florida. It’s especially suited for large and multi-generational family visitors or smaller groups that like a LOT of space. Sol Mate Too adjacent to Sol Mate will accommodate a family gathering of 20, and is perfect for family reunions at the beachfront location! Take a look at Sol Mate Too for the additional family to join the FUN and memories in SUNNY Captiva Island!

This home has the perfect layout, inside and outside: comfortable, efficient, and easy for everyone. This could be the model for how a beach house ought to be designed and furnished. And the location is ideal, too: right on the beach in a sparsely-built area (no public parking), near the Captiva Library, and a short walk to restaurants, shops, and activities in Captiva’s Village Center.

Sol Mate fronts a wide section of Captiva beach, famous for its white sand, pretty shells, warm Gulf of Mexico water, and abundant sunshine. A short boardwalk leads right onto the sand – so easy to pop back and forth between the house and the beach. A full accessibility ramp with handrails spaced 28 inches apart leads down to a beach path or to the parking area. This is perfect for a no-stairs entry or just for rolling in the luggage.

You could spend all of your Captiva time right there on the beach, or enjoy the many other activities of Captiva (many within easy walking distance). Numerous comfortably-furnished screened porches and a beachfront sun deck offer fabulous views of the Gulf of Mexico and the famous Captiva sunsets.

Sol Mate boasts a lovely beachfront yard with sea grapes and palms. A great new feature is the tiki hut with a hot/cold shower and foot rinse, conveniently located as you return from the beach on the boardwalk. The beach deck is furnished with a bench and beach chairs, and the gas grill is located there.

The home is amazing and we had a wonderful time! We loved rhe screened in porch which is the lenght of the house. Dolphin familys every day within 15 feet of my grandchildren along with lazy manate! What fun!To be able:to see 8 people in 5 different rooms including the kitchen was a treat, all while watching sunsets and dolphins was a magic moment in time!

This year we had family members from CAlifornia,Colorado, Virginia and Miami--our grown grandchildren refuse to go elsewhere!! We've also rented many houses on the island but Sol Mate is by far our favorite. It is beautifully decorated, designed to bring people together, has a fabulous kitchen, an almost private beach and yet is located close to everything you might want to do! It is always immaculate and the staff couldn't be nicer to work with. It is a gem -- we had a fabulous week!

The outdoor shower was the most popular place to rinse off after spending time at the beach. It was even more popular when a shower was needed.The inside of Sol Mate could use some sprucing up. We were told in November that painting the inside would be happening in a couple weeks(never happened). The master downstairs’ sink, the hot and cold are reversed. The window in the dining room leaked. The furniture could use some updating.Outside there was an festation of caterpillars.There was also a bee nest in the tree next to the driveway.

THERE WERE THREE GENERATIONS OF US FROM FOUR DIFFERENT STATES AND THE HOUSE ACCOMMODATED OUR NEEDS BEAUTIFULLY. IT'S DECORATED SO TASTEFULLY AND DESIGNED FOR COMFORT AND INTERACTION. THE KITCHEN IS A DREAM--TWO SINKS, TWO DISHWASHERS AND TWO REFRIGERATORS AND UNBELIEVABLE CABINET SPACE AND ENDLESS KITCHEN SUPPLIES AND COOKWARE. (THE ONLY THING WE WERE UNABLE TO FIND WAS A MEAT THERMOMETER!) THE SCREENED-IN PORCHES, OUR PRIVATE BOARD WALK TO THE BEACH LITERALLY RIGHT OUT THE FRONT DOOR, A SHORT WALK TO ANDY ROSSE,THE TIKI HUT SHOWER--WERE ALL WONDERFUL!! I DON'T THINK THERE'S A BETTER HOUSE OR LOCATION ON THE ISLAND--WE'VE ALREADY MADE OUR RESERVATION FOR NEXT YEAR. CAPTIVA IS DEFINITELY "BACK" AND AS BEAUTIFUL AS EVER. (AND AMERICAN REALTY COULDN'T BE NICER TO WORK WITH!!)

Being our first trip back since Ian, we were concerned about what the condition of the island and the property might be. Although much of the island vegetation is still in recovery, we were pleasantly surprised that this property and much of the surrounding area landscaping was in good shape. The house was really nice - great location, beachfront with beautiful Gulf views from the upper and lower levels and close to the heart of the island with shopping and dining options. The kitchen is well equipped with nice appliances (including two dishwashers) and there is a new gas grill outside. All bathrooms have been recently remodeled. And the layout is perfect for multiple couples/families with separated bedrooms/bathrooms and centrally located common areas. We were glad to see that the outdoor shower and boardwalk to the beach are still intact. Additionally, there was beach equipment available, including multiple (8-10) new beach chairs and a beach umbrella. We’ve been so happy using American Realty of Captiva for the last 20 years. Lisa Wheeler and her staff have been awesome! We can’t wait to return to the island to enjoy the beautiful beach, awesome shelling, and gorgeous sunsets, and we will definitely stay at this property again!

Very good service. The location is perfect, easy access to the beach, beautiful view and very well maintained and the unit had all the necessary amenities, excellent kitchen equipment, etc.The matresses were very comfortable, all though the bedroom on the ground floor didn't seem as cool as the other rooms. As for the temperatures, the main floor was very cool and the upstairs was warmer. That's to be expected, but it was necesssary to keep the units a little cooler than I would have liked to accomodate the upstairs as well.In summary, this is an excellent rental property, very well maintained, first class, ample kitchenware, lightening, everything in perfect condition.

Wonderful Week in Paradise

Our family of ten thoroughly enjoyed our week at this beautiful property! The whole rental & check-in process was easy & my email to the property manager with questions about amenities was answered quickly & in detail. The location of this beach house was excellent & we were able to walk to many restaurants & attractions. All in all it was a perfect week!
