I typically stay at the Maui Kai every January. This was the best unit I've been in yet. The top floor provides a much better view down into the water than lower floors, so you can see the turtles & stingrays swinging just off the beach. Even saw an endangered monk seal for the first time this year. The corner location also provides a nice view up the beach to the north.Two other things that stood out: A decent Celestron telescope was very nice for looking at whales in the distance, and a fancy bidet with a control panel next to the seat that would make captain Picard jealous.When I book my trip for next year I will definitely check to see if this unit is available again.

Beautiful beachfront condo!

The condo was a perfect base for our week in Maui. We were able to watch the sunrise each morning from the lenai and often spotted sea turtles swimming by the shore. This small condo is perfect for couples and even has a small beach next door.

During whale season (November thru March), seeing these magnificent creatures breaching right in front of the lanai of the condo is a daily treat from sun-up to sun-down. No need to book an expensive whale-watching tour. It doesn't get much better than dining on your own lanai while watching whales being whales--heaven!

Great location

We had a great stay over Christmas week. The views are incredible, and we were able to sit on the lanai and whale watch for hours each day. We had a few issues at check in after a long travel day, but Tom answered our call (on Christmas Day) and took care of it quickly. There was plenty of parking, several restaurants within walking distance and the quiet pool was a great place to unwind after mornings full of activities out on the island.

Oceanfront - closest building to the water on Maui- Fabulous views from multiple windows. The pool is in the back of the building allowing full ocean views from the front. There are other buildings with larger pools and in the front of the buildings, but none with these ocean views from within the unit where most of the time is spent.

The building was constructed in the 1970's directly on the ocean before the current football field away requirements for new buildings. All the apartments look directly out instead of from the side of a building or over another unit. It was set on the best location on Kaanapali Beach, it's practically in the ocean and has the best views of Molokai and Lanai islands. It is on a point of land. The shoreline recedes away on both sides. People tell us watching whales from the balcony is better than their excursions and it's almost like being on a boat. If you like the sound of waves directly below and a layed back experience, you will find no better. If you are looking for a hotel with restaurants and amenities and lots of people, this is probably not your best choice.

We have owned units in the building since the 1970's. The building is practically in the water. The apartment looks directly out at the islands of Molokai and Lanai.

This is the closest building to the ocean in all of Hawaii. It is practically in the water and has the best views of Molokai and Lanai. It boasts the best Whale watching on Maui.
