About this property
Bald Beaver Lodge A hunting, Fishing, 4-wheeling, Snowmobiling paradise!
All knotty wood pine and log lodge. On private land surrounded by Koochiching national forest. Excellent hunting, fishing, 4-wheeler and snowmobile trails, and horse trails. Great bear hunting, deer hunting, trapping, grouse hunting which includes spruce grouse, ruffed grouse, and sharp tail grouse. There is a gazebo with a fridge, blue tooth speakers table and chairs near fire pit. Guest cabin with hot tub, queen bed, blue tooth speakers and 1 & 1/2 bath along with attached shop. Main lodge has a wrap around deck, 7 full or queen beds and 4 twin beds in the loft. Master bedroom has a massage chair. Movie room with reclining chairs and 3-D glasses and many movies.
Very relaxing out in the woods. Voyager national park 55 miles away and the Rainy river with excellent Sturgeon fishing 31 miles away. Muskie fishing just a few miles down the road on the Big Fork River. Kayaking down the river is always fun. We have a muskie fishing guide in town and a bear guide for hunting. Nice little town. Ask me about the private bar in town I own with 4 beds above the bar in case someone needs to stay in town. The movie room has a bar and popcorn machine with 6 seats in the back and 4 electric leather movie seats in front with phone chargers. 8 sony 3-D glasses for the 3-D movies. Trails to town leave from my back yard. 4-wheeling and snowmobiling is a big deal in Big Falls. Endless trails to ride right from the lodge. This is a great place for the sportsman that likes to hunt. I have a shop with double doors you can back your truck up to and wheel the table with PVC top to your tail gate to unload game and hang it in the shop to clean while watching tv on the 65 inch tv. 2 sets of washer and dryers for your use. July the wild blueberries are right behind the pull shed. June berries and wild raspberries are all over. We have an asparagus garden with cherry tree, pear trees, and apple trees for the guests use. Many things to do, but the big thing is relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Everything on the property is accessible to guest except the equipment in the garage. If there is a deer hunting party I do have other private land that is available for free to hunt. I have 84 acres a few miles out with a cabin and 47 acres by the river. Let me know and I will show you private land to hunt. I do have a private bar in town with 4 bedrooms above the bar for longer staying parties that I may have available for use.
Other things to note
This area is a hunters paradise and the people in the area are so friendly you will fall in love with the town just like I did.

My husband Darby had been going to Big Falls for years with his best friend Jake. Once he and I met he started bring me to the area and we bought a little cabin out of town. After awhile a couple other pieces of land came up for sale that we bought because we knew we wanted to live in the Big Falls area. When this lodge came up for sale he and I said this was going to be our retirement home. We purchased the lodge which used to be called the Red Rooster in March of 2017.
I am a registered nurse that works the ER in Mahnomen MN and my husband is the Executive Director of a 501 C3 non-profit organization called the Center of Human Environment in Mahnomen a board and lodge for mentally ill, chemically dependent, and developmentally disabled individuals. My husband and I love our work, but couldn't pass up this opportunity to buy what we think is the greatest retirement home in the area. Since we are years from retirement we decided to do the VRBO to help us keep improving the property.
Both my husband and I love to hunt, fish and Trap. My husband caught the beaver that is on display in the main gathering area. I trapped my first pine martin in Big Falls. Both my husband and I shot our first bears in Big Falls. I love Sturgeon fishing and so does my husband I mean what a fight they give. I like scrapbook and my husband in his spare time likes to work with our boys on cars or welding projects. We have 3 boys Riley, Jacob and Cole. We are also blessed with a grand daughter Allisyn.

Why they chose this property
This property is so peaceful and full of natures goodies. We have wild blueberries on the property, we have June berries, and wild rasberries. The trails you can drive to town and pick berries the whole way. There are moral mushrooms in the Spring we love to go pick. We looked at this property thinking there is always something to do year round here. We have deer and bear coming into the yard. There is so much peace here that we almost want to speed up time and retire. We want an enclosed side by side with heat for winter and drive the trails year round. So much wildlife to see it is amazing.
What makes this property unique
The biggest benefit I can think of is the people of Big Falls. Everyone is so kind and willing to help each other out. Everyone is a friend and I have never seen crime here. I don't have a fear of leaving the kids at home while I run to town. I don't worry about anyone vandalizing or stealing from me. If the world could be like Big Falls we would all be at peace. Lots of trees means fresh air. Lots of good oxygen in the air and my favorite time is in the winter walking a trail in the pines and it feels like Christmas all the time with the smell of the pines. Snowmobile trails go for miles. Red Lake walleye fishing is 54 miles away. Lake of the woods 90 miles away. If you live in a bigger city you will enjoy the peace and quiet of a small town. The stars at night are breath taking.
The local bar is quiet and unique. The bar sells food, so 4 miles to get a burger and beer. The town has a store, hardware store, bar, post office, community center, Clinic, fire station. Not bad for a town of 200 people.
