The Neighborhood- Overview The Glens of Antrim is in a secluded mountain cove off the beaten track. Traffic is virtually non-existent and the area is safe. Homes are on large lots and somewhat scattered across two subdivisions. It’s a short drive to a walking entrance to the Smoky Mountains National Park on the other side of the cove - perfect for hiking. The mountain cove area is often rocky and mostly wooded with lots of tall hardwoods, evergreens, and other foliage. Occasional wildlife: rabbits, turkey, deer, and on very rare occasions black bears.
The Neighborhood- Getting Around Paved roads all the way to the property. Last 1.5 miles of access roads involve steep inclines. Neighborhood roads are well suited for a nice nature walk with moderate to steep inclines. 4-wheel drive vehicle may be necessary in the winter months depending on road conditions. Occasional snow in the late Fall to early Spring months can cause access and egress issues, so be sure to discuss this with the owners.

We came to enjoy some skiing with the family and friends and was an amazing time!! Bonus you can get to cataloochee ski in 7 mins via back route from here!!
For my first time in the mountains me and my family had a great time. Everything was clean and the directions was easy follow! Great cabin! Great Area!! Great host!!!
Beautiful property tucked away in a quiet, peaceful setting. The creek is so close you can hear it flowing 24/7, which makes for a relaxing and serene atmosphere. The home sits perfectly with a stunning mountain view looking right down the holler. The house itself is beautiful, spacious, and exceptionally clean. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and feel comfortable. The layout is ideal for two families, offering both shared spaces and privacy when needed. Everything was well maintained and spotless, which made our stay even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with gorgeous scenery, comfort, and space, this place is absolutely perfect.
We had a ski weekend scheduled and the cabin provided all the comforts we needed to relax after days on the slopes. The kitchen had everything, the beds were comfy, and warm blankets.
This property was great and just what we needed for our annual fall trip to the mountains. The cabin was spacious, had plenty of room, and was very clean. Mrs. Patrick was very responsive to any questions we had. We hope to return as it is one of our favorite places to stay thus far!
Great property and location. Near Waynesville and Maggie Valley. My wife and I needed a relaxing, comfortable place to join our adult son and his girlfriend. This was just the ticket!!! Great place for our dogs too and they got really tired running on the hills so we all slept better!!!
The pictures do not do this place justice!!. It was so beautiful and well decorated and stocked. We didn’t have to look for anything in the cabin. there were clear directions available for every item. Very peaceful and serene not far from shopping and fun but still quiet and majestic. We will be back! ❤️❤️
House was much better than even expected! Plenty of room for our family. Beds very comfortable. Kids enjoyed playing in the creek. The sound of the running water reaches the porch, which is literally in the treetops. Beautiful, peaceful setting in a perfect area. Enough land to not be disturbed by neighbors.
Every year my husband and I spend a week with our adult children and their spouses. We have been doing this for three years. This is our second time in the smokies and it was a different experience because the last time was at Thanksgiving. Thank you Ms. Patrick for welcoming us into your home, and letting us make even more memories!
A relaxing getaway in the woods, but not far from things to do!
Suzanne's cabin was the perfect size and perfect location for a long weekend for a bunch of friends to get together and go skiing and hit the casino! The cabin had everything you need, just enough daily essentials to get you by. The creek that runs below the cabin was so peaceful and with the heater on the porch made for great nights sitting outside in the cold. The cabin is less than 1.5 miles from Cataloochee Ski Area via a gravel/rocky fire service road. This road is not very hard to navigate and as long as it hasnt rained or snowed, you will have no problems getting to it but 4x4 or AWD is recommended. Otherwise it is close to 40 mins via regular roads. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Glens Of Antrim Mountain Cabin!
Everything was as good or better than advertised except VRBO slipped badly on their end!!! We received no less than 4 emails from them. Fortunately, we were able to contact Suzanne and also after failing making to make with VRBO she got us the info to get us in the door.
Once in we entered Smokey Mountain Paradise. This was not our first mountain rental cabin but by far the best. Suzanne claimed to be dog friendly and true to form Hank and Moose each had their bowls set up and waiting. The cabin had everything needed to cook, clean, and enjoy the mountain air and scenery. Need suggestions on where to go, check out the library just past the stairs. Horseback riding, White water rafting (straight North on I-40) the kids loved the zipline at the end of the run also. We had a couple of good meals in Waynesville after the kids left. Best of all this in not Dollywood or Gatlinburg. You are in the middle Smokey Mountain National Park. We saw Elk and black Bear with their cubs. Mountain peaks at the beginning of being painted by mother nature's paint brush and so much History. So much quiet that heals the soul. Don't miss it!
This home made our annual family and friends ski trip better than ever before. Our group consisted of 2 families- 8 adults, 3 teenagers, one pre-teen, and our dogs. The house is well equipped with everything you could need to feed a large group. Keurig and regular coffee pot. We were happy and comfortable with all the furniture, except the pull out couch downstairs was rough to sleep on. There’s plenty of space for everyone between the 3 floors. My friend even brought a sewing machine and set it up in the pub area to sew all weekend. The stream and property are beautiful and the sound of the water running is relaxing up on the huge deck. Very dog friendly. This really is a fantastic house. It’s a beautiful home that you can tell is well loved. Now here’s the best part- it’s 1.5 miles to the ski resort via a secret back road that takes you right to the top at the employee parking lot. No waiting in the long line of cars! We would ski all day, head back to the house, then go back to drop the kids off to night ski. It’s so close. Thank you to the owners for sharing your awesome house. We would definitely stay here again.
This house is located in a nice area and is easily accessible for any vehicle. Communications with the owner were good. The house was clean and well stocked. We were disappointed that we could not see or hear the stream/water on the property due to the fallen leaves this time of year. We chose this location mostly for the water. The stream does run in front of the house, but is small and completely covered this time of year. This house is very dog friendly if you’re traveling with your pet. It is probably not the safest for elderly people due to the narrow driveway and no walking area around the house. Also, there are a lot of stairs. The bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. The bathrooms are in nice condition. Our biggest complaint was the living room furniture is damaged with the exception of a wooden rocking chair. There is limited seating, with the sofa and recliner both having issues. It was extremely uncomfortable when we wanted to hang out and watch a movie. No one was happy with the furniture situation. We would consider staying here again only if the living room furniture is updated.

Response from VrboOwner on 19 Dec 2023
Although this is largely a positive response, we regret that our cabin did not meet all of this guest’s expectations and would like to address the concerns mentioned.
Although it’s never dry, the creek’s water level is largely dependent on somewhat recent rainfall on the surrounding mountains. October is the “fall colors” season, so there is normally a great number of leaves on the ground by early November.
Although this mountain property and yard are large, the land is mostly somewhat steep, and it is a 3-level home with no elevator, as described in the listing. So, it can be difficult for those people with physical limitations to fully enjoy the experience. Nonetheless, the large open porches and deck offer a nice outdoor experience for all.
The living room sofa and recliner were not “damaged”, but they came new with a distressed leather look and the material became quite worn looking recently. Their replacement was already on our agenda and the living room sofa has been replaced with a new leather sofa. We expect to also replace the recliner soon. Photos in the listing of the living room accurately reflect the seating accommodations and have been updated to show the new sofa. The kitchen table with 6 chairs is immediately adjacent to the living room, and, although not quite as comfortable, those can be used for extra seating in the living room.
We were a group of 7 adults, stayed for just 2 nights. The house had everything we needed and could relax before heading back home. Would recommend to stay here.
This was a great place to stay. No issues with the accommodations. Have recommended it to my nephew and his family. Was just 2 of Us but would have been good for a larger family getaway. We were able to hit the things we wanted to do within an hour’s radius of the location. Would consider it again for next trip. .
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this cabin , and hopefully will be coming back soon . They had everything furnished that you could think of you would need , and we loved the fact that they were pet friendly
We enjoyed our stay, The kids enjoy the creek and exploring the bridge, we enjoyed sitting outside on the porch listening to the stream, they Love the loft, overall it was not clean in some areas, The stairways were dusty along with the blinds, found lots of black ants, had to wash some of the sheets and blankets because they smell,
My family and I enjoyed our stay the cabin was very beautiful I have stayed at several different ones and this one was the beat Suzanne the owner was awesome she answered all my messages. We will definitely be staying here again
Our family of 8 went for a week over spring break and absolutely loved it. The weather was great and the kids all loved playing in the creek just down from the house. Directions were easy to follow and everything you need is only about 20 minutes away. Thanks for a wonderful getaway in a beautiful home.

Location
The house was great. I was a little disappointed in the distance from Cataloochee. We did not know that the 1.6 miles had to be traversed with a 4 wheel drive vehicle until after we booked. Other than that everything was fine.
The cabin was wonderful, easy to get to and very dog friendly! Plenty of space for friends and family. Our kids absolutely loved the bunk beds and loft too. Definitely will be back and highly recommend
