Perfect chalet for two families

We had two families with five adults and three kids (age 4 to 7) staying here for a week over new year’s. We had the best time. The house was perfect and the location was amazing. So easy to get over to the main lifts and lots of restaurant options in the village. Doug the property manager was very helpful and Michelle very responsive. House very well stocked including with lots of food supplies. We contributed to the stock on our way out since no one ever finishes everything they buy. The fireplace and hot tub were perfect for after skiing. We couldn’t have had a better time!

Arrowhead Bliss

Loved this property. The location is great for access especially during COVID conditions. We could ski in and the ski out was a short 2 minute walk. Great for lunch at the condo. The bedding and bathrooms were great, comfy beds and pillows and good water pressure and hot water for the shower. The shining star for the condo is the kitchen. Very well stocked for all cooking utensils and lots of condiments and spices. We cooked in for all our dinners and had everything we needed. The condo also has a hot tub outside that is a great addition to have after a day of skiing. Washer and dryer were also a good perc. Communication with the owner was first rate, Michelle was able to answer all questions quickly and had some great advice for our stay. This is a great condo in a great location. We are looking forward to staying there again.

Incredible Chalet

We've been coming to Big Sky in summer and winter since 2005 and have rented numerous on mountain properties for stays up to 2 weeks. The Dean Family chalet in the Arrowheads is an absolute gem and one of the very best full service homes on the mountain. Many Arrowhead chalets are void of personality, basic supplies, and renovation. The Dean's vision when they transformed their chalet clearly shows how much they love the area and all it has to offer. It's wonderful they've chosen to open such a beautiful home to others who want to experience this very special corner of the world. Renters will want for nothing as the property is well thought out, comfortable, and welcoming. Although we bring most all of our own supplies, the chalet is well stocked with anything you could ever need. I was impressed with the high quality cookware, cutlery, appliances, and top of the line coffee maker made available to us. The hot tub is amazing, and because it sits right off the back door deck, is easy to access on those cold Montana evenings. The Dean's new modern fireplace box, sound system, and incredibly powerful WiFi added to our enjoyment. We would absolutely recommend this property in any season.

Perfect layout in perfect location for ski trip

We were two families of 4 (parents plus 2 teen daughters each) staying for our annual ski trip. I have booked our lodging every year at various ski resorts for the last 10 yrs and this may have been my greatest success. My husband's priority is access to the mountain and this condo was perfect. The ski in/out aspect was the easiest we've ever had and was very central to the overall ski resort-- not off to one side so that you spend all your time traversing the mountain to get back for lunch. My SIL does not spend much time on the slopes and needs a cozy condo for family meals and games. The kitchen had everything one would need for cooking nice meals and even a couple of appliances we don't have at home like a panini press and waffle iron. We never ran out of plates, cups or silverware. My nieces are in high school and had a few virtual assignments they needed to do and the wifi sent out a strong consistent signal so they had no issues. The 4 teens loved having their own space in the upstairs loft. Each bedroom had its own en suite bathroom and all were spacious and nicely appointed. There was more than enough room for groceries and ski jackets and boots. We never felt like we were tripping over each other or stuff. Additionally, I loved that there were spices, etc in the kitchen, detergent in the laundry room and soap/shampoo/lotion in the bathrooms. I also appreciated that instructions were so clearly laid out and any questions we had could be answered once we arrived at the condo. What to do when you arrive, where to park, departure checklist, wifi password, thermostat controls, etc. Everything was written out in simple instructions. The condo location was very close to other condos as well as a couple of restaurants and a ski rental shop. But we never felt that noise or traffic from neighbors was an issue at all. This little area of the mountain seemed quiet and serene all day every day. We rented our skis from the shop right there and found the prices to be no more than they were in town, the equipment was in great condition, and it was so easy to make changes and return because it was right there. The only reason I would hesitate to recommend this location is if someone in your party had mobility issues. The condo is a short walk uphill from the garage and with snow and ice this may be challenging. The owners have a polaris available to assist with this but I would recommend discussing with them if you have concerns.

Awesome location

Our group enjoyed staying at such a convenient location. With all the snow we received during our visit, it was nice not to have to drive up to the resort. We simply walked about 50 yards to the Silver Knife run, put our skis on and headed down to the base area lifts using our IKON pass. When we were finished for the day, we headed back down Silver Knife and skied right down to our unit (with a little poling). The unit was well stocked although we brought all our own supplies. One recommendation I would make for future renters. Buy your food in Bozeman, either at Walmart or Safeway, before heading to Big Sky. Roxy's Market was almost twice the amount. We were fortunate to have stopped at Safeway for our things. The garages are below the condo units, so having the property manager "schlep" all the skis and luggage up to the unit was time consuming, yet manageable. I'm used to simply driving up to a unit and unload. Other than that, the unit itself was awesome. Everyone in our group agreed it was one of the best places we've stayed at for our annual ski trip. Michelle was a great communicator before the trip as well as during our stay.

Great experience at the Dean Cabin

Arrowhead is an excellent location, easy ski in/ski out and a close walk to everything in the village. The property had everything one would need for a complete vacation. Many thanks to Michelle for quickly responding to any questions we had and making our stay perfect. We highly recommend this home!

About the host

Hosted by MICHELLE R DEAN

Host profile image
Our Family has skied together since the kids were young. They are both adults now. Our son lives in Bozeman and we wanted a place we all could use with the family. We enjoy the summer and winter activities that goes on at the mountain,(big sky big grass, Pond Skim, Snowbar, Brewfest and many others). We are grandparents now and look forward to having her ski soon with all of us.

Why they chose this property

This was the first property we looked at and we loved the layout and view. We have remodeled the inside, since we bought in 2017. Walkable to restaurants, bars, grocery stores and sporting good stores. So much to do in the winter: skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross country, snowmobiling, fishing, hiking to Ousel Falls or back country skiing. Summer: Hiking, Fishing, ATV tours, 1-hour to West Yellowstone gate, Ousel Falls and lots of activities through Base Camp at Big Sky. Anything you want to do in the outdoors is in your back yard or within 1-hour.

What makes this property unique

The views and ability to walk everywhere is what we love about this home. We can ski out our front door, go snow shoeing out our front door and walk to many restaurants and shops without getting into a car. Having two master bedrooms on the first floor with King beds and bathrooms makes it very comfortable for families. The upper loft has sleeping for 4-6 with its own bathroom. 1/2 bathroom on the main floor, with open Kitchen, dining and living room. Great space for 8-10 people. Private Hot tub after a long ski day or hike. Private Deck to enjoy the spectacular views.
