Cozy hideaway! Nestled in the heart of of the city just off the Armdale roundabout, this is a perfect place to settle in for a relaxing visit. Let the calming sound of the bubbling brook in the back yard erase the daily stresses while you enjoy a private patio and charming shaded back yard. All the benefits of being in the city while feeling like you're at an isolated cottage, the open living/sleeping area with patio access provides an oasis of peacefulness.
1930's Simply Charming 1 bedroom open concept unit with many windows, large skylight, propane fireplace to curl up to on cool evenings. Four poster mahogany canopy bed with luxurious bedding, and a down duvet. Hardwood floors throughout. Sofa bed in the living room, with a drape between the rooms to provide some privacy.Private deck through the double patio doors. Open your windows to hear the mesmerizing sound of the waterfalls leading to the Halifax Harbour. Oh so, relaxing and most unusual in the city. Old world feeling bathroom that has been renovated, beautiful tiles, granite countertop. The kitchen is fully equipped with an island and cooktop. Walk to Chocolate Lake across the street, along the waters edge just down the street is a walkway following the water to The Purcells Cove Rd., and Armdale Yacht club. Walk to the grocery store, and mall. Great restaurant within a 5 minute walk that has been around since the 1950's. 5 minutes to downtown. Many restaurants within a 20 minute walk or so. Movie theater, swimming pools, Bayers Lake shopping area is just a 10 minute drive away.
This unit is 1 of two fully self contained units in the building. Separate, private entrance. Fully equipped kitchen. Laundry facilities. Separate carport.

The location was good but the turn off is on a busy highway plus the room was stuffy when i checked in. constant turning on of carbon monoxide detector and when i asked the host she didn't respond. The bathroom needs an air ventilator.

Overall I enjoyed my stay here, very nicely decorated and the snacks and toiletries were appreciated. It would have been 5 stars but the listing was slightly inaccurate as it said it had a hot tub but didn’t which was a little disappointing as I was looking forward to using it. It may have been an issue with Vrbo as when I looked later it was gone from the listing. If you are thinking of staying here you should know that the driveway can be tricky to get into and up so you might have a bit of trouble if you have a small car that is low to the ground. Even though it was close to the road it was still very quiet and a good place to get away that isn’t too far.

Dangerous driveway entry
The space was adequate but kitchen was dark with one dim overhead light. The bathroom was smallish but exhaust fan didn’t work. Must have been for a while because there was mold/mildew on the base boards. Had to keep the AC on in bedroom because it was so stuffy especially at night. The living area was nice with skylight and windows making it the only bright part in the place. They did have Roku with many streaming options. The electric kettle didn’t work and the ironing board was rusted out and unusable. As soon as I contacted the owner replacements arrived. The worst thing was the dangerous entrance to the driveway that was an acute left of a major road on to an un level driveway. The entrance to the house was two makeshift steps that were hard to navigate
