Relax and unwind in a peaceful rural location.
I grew up and lived in Yorkshire.I have always loved gardening, walking and enjoying wildlife. All of which i enjoy here in France in abundance.
Stargazercottage purchased this Cottage in 2008
Why Stargazercottage chose Pérassay
We converted this property ourselves to provide a relaxing and comfortable retreat while retaining original features.
What makes this Cottage unique
The area is often referred as "hidden France" or "a step back in time".We agree. On clear nights enjoy the amazing stars without light pollution. Pick your own seasonal fruit and vegetables from the garden.

"A Little Haven of Peace and Tranquility"
From the moment my sister and I stepped through the door we knew we would be happy here! Maureen had the log burning stove up and running and the cottage felt warm and inviting. After running through a few practicalities with us and offering us homemade coffee and walnut cake we unpacked and settled down to English T.V and an evening meal we had prepared in the fully equipped kitchen. There was a hairdryer in one of the bedrooms, electric blankets, radiators and electric fans if needed. There were books and magazines, a DVD player and a good selection of DVD's. The beds were very comfortable, the bedrooms were a good size and we slept like logs!! I would definitely recommend Stargazer Cottage and hope to return very soon!
Tranquility and peace.
As mentioned in previous reviews, Maureen and Steve are wonderful hosts and kept us supplied with wood for the stove and even an electric blanket in the unusually cold weather. Stargazer Cottage is ideal for exploring a beautiful area of France and our hosts gave us plenty of suggestions of where to go. The garden is amazing and we were able to wander in it - unfortunately it was not warm enough to sit and enjoy, but we did see plenty of stars at night! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stargazer Cottage.
Property is a beautifully restored workers cottage that is situated in a lovely little village
Would highly recommend staying at stargazer cottage. The owners are incredible hosts and nothing is too much trouble.
The cottage itself is more than comfortable for a family of four and the garden is a super space for an evening BBQ and a glass of wine.
The location of the cottage was superb for a family with 2 children. There are many different activities that are easily accessible within a short car journey, and particular stand out being the local lake that is safe for swimming and offers a wide range of other activities.
Overall the property delivers brilliant value for money and provided us with a family holiday to remember.
Relaxing with Great Hosts

Fantastic accomodation and the price was brilliant . The owners are also very friendly and helpful
Fantastic place to chill
If you want a chilled out week this is the place to come. The cottage has everything you will need. We just loved the tranquillity of the area and the accommodation. It's also nice that the owners live nearby for both knowledge of the area and also to assist with anything in the cottage.
We would throughly recommend this cottage for a very pleasant break.
Perassay is a small, typically french, village about 1km from the cottage. There is a small general store where fresh bread is available daily from midday. There is also a bar/tabac. Ste Severe sur Indre is a lovely small town with a market every Wednesday in the medieval market place. You will find the newly opened Maison Jour de Fete(The Jaques Tati museum) here. There are several leisure lakes nearby including Lac de Sidialles with man made beaches, boating, pedalos and a bar. The first stage of the Tour du Limousin ends in Boussac - 20 minutes by car. Boussac is a delightful small town and has a busy market on Thursdays. It has two supermarkets with petrol stations and a couple of pleasant restaurants.18-hole golf course is only 20 mins.away at Les Dryades.La Chatre is a 25minute drive away where a market is held every Saturday. You will find a good selection of supermarkets here. George Sands lived in the area and wrote most of her works here. You can visit her home in the chateau at Nohant. She was a great friend of Chopin who often spent time with her. Another chateau worthy of a visit is at nearby Sarzay.A number of important motorsport events are held in the area.
