This home is located on Drake's Island and the beach is less than a tenth-of-a-mile away. Rent a boat or set out on a charter for activities in the harbor. You'll be just over two miles from the town of Wells, which offers restaurants, shops, and nature reserves close by. This is the ideal location to be as secluded as possible to enjoy nature, but still close enough to town in case you need to buy something.

The lopsided house

The neighborhood was beautiful with a short walk to the beach. The house was a lopsided nightmare. The floors are so uneven that you would run in to walls. There are holes under the linoleum in the kitchen floor. No dressed or closet in the front bedroom so we had to live out of our suitcase the whole week. The living room furniture was dirty and needs replaced. There is a TV but no remote. I have been renting through VRBO for years and this is by far the worst house ever for comfort. Very disappointed for sure.

Rustic, great location

Drake’s Island is beautiful! We enjoyed the beach, the quiet neighborhood, the wildlife reserve trails, the restaurants. It was a great long weekend away for the two of us! Communication with the owner was easy and friendly. The house was clean and ready for us and we were offered free early check-in. It was a bit more rustic than we had expected, but a wonderful stay!

Near the beach!

This property was perfectly located for our family. Two minute walk to the beach! Nice quiet neighborhood. Nice that there is a washer/dryer on site. I wish there had been more description of what was at the property, as we brought a lot of stuff. There is a hose in the backyard to wash off from when you return from the beach. There were several beach chairs to use. Not recommended for small children or babies as there is paint peeling throughout the house and onto the floor. My 4 year old brushed up against the back door and their leg was covered in paint. Not recommended for people who have balance issues. The flooring in the kitchen needs to be redone. You feel like the floor is going to fall out from underneath you and it effects your balance and is easy to trip.

Awesome house

We loved Drake’s Island Haven for its proximity to the beach! Great neighborhood and cute house! It did get rather warm with no A/C. Only other complaint is that there were dead bugs all over the radiator in the master bedroom. Overall, great house! Would love to come Back next year!
