About Heather Berwick
Our obsession with this area started five years ago when we visited for the first time. The industrial heritage is stamped on Coalbrookdale and the surrounding areas in a charming and fascinating way. The history is all around in the landscape and the architecture.
Heather Berwick purchased this House in 2014
Why Heather Berwick chose Ironbridge Gorge
This house had enough space for us to stay in and was right next to the Museum of Iron and the site of the world's first blast furnace which is the centre of our interest. The Old Post Office was also itself a piece of the area's history. On the floorboards in the front room we could see the marks made by a hundred years of heeled shoes as people waited at the counter. We have yet to uncover a picture of the post office in use but we have discovered it was originally owned in 1905 by Mr. John Dorsett. His son, John P Dorsett, was the butcher in the shop next door. The house needed a lot of work but Phase 1 is now complete. There is a new kitchen and bathroom and a full redecoration. Our listed building application for heritage double glazed, hardwood windows has been approved and upstairs windows have been replaced. Downstairs is scheduled for 2019. We will be continuing to improve and restore the house in the future.

Comfortable clean and homely - had a lovely stay. Bed was comfortable facilities were excellent - location fab!
4 day Winter Break
This property is situated by the main road into Ironbridge. It has single glazed windows and therefore we found it noisy.
Apart from this it ticked all the boxes. It is warm and clean. Parking is on the main road outside the property. It is approximately a 10 minute walk into Ironbridge .
We visited The Horse and Jockey for a meal on Heather and Harvey's recommendation and it was delicious.
Cosy and well located cottage
The cottage felt very spacious for a two bedroom property, everything was clean and in good order and we had all we needed there, great location for visiting all the Ironbridge attractions and for walks in the hills
Gorgeous cottage in the gorge
A perfect location to explore Ironbridge and Shropshire. The cottage was spacious (we were 2 people) and had everything you could possibly need. We were very comfortable and definitely hope to return.
Charming cottage and well appointed!
Well equipped, comfortable and clean. Very comfortable bed and sofas. Lovely kitchen ( grateful for the idiots guide to the hob! )
Lovely and quiet at night ( early morning traffic from the road did wake us after 6am BUT we did have the windows open! ) Parking easy. Fantastic base for all Ironbridge museums, Shrewsbury and area.
We had a lovely boat trip in Shrewsbury and visited the Victorian Farm in Church Stretton.
The Co-op was open on Sunday evening when we arrived which was helpful. We had lovely fish and chips from the shop in Ironbridge and the Post Office helpfully had salt and vinegar, thank you.
We have already recommended to a friend.
Location, location, location
Ideal for walking to all of the museums. The property is really comfortable and well maintained. The only downside is it is not possible to eat or relax outside: no space.
