Avoid this place like the plague! Terrible experience!
There's no amenities you have to pay to use anything! Good luck! If you want to use the hot tub it's $50! Insane! So many rules it's uncomfortable.

Amazing getaway in May!
My girlfriend and I traveled to Cape Breton to drive the Cabot Trail and we ended up spending our entire trip at Cabot Shores. We had no reason to leave. The food was great (and accommodated for our gluten free preference). We were able to hike every day. I was able to get out canoeing twice. And each night we would relax by the fire or in the cedar hot tub (heated with a solar hot water system!). It was a perfect vacation and we plan on returning.

Very Comfortable Room and Gorgeous Views
I stayed in the lodge, room #1, that had a large bed and a great morning view. The place was very neat and clean and I experienced superb customer service during my stay! The food was soo good!
I would certainly recommend staying here or just dropping by to enjoy the tasty fresh food and views.

Evenings by the Woodstove
I spent the better half of last week nesting within the cosy confines of Cabot Shores. And sure, as the new intern, I can be dubbed as bias; however, its with fresh eyes and scout's promise that I say this spot is something to be had. (I've got a good record– check out my Yelp profile: www.lolaphilly.yelp.ca)
While the summer months are typically the peak season, the lodge’s high ceilings and solarium style provide the framework for an all-season destination. My impressions were warmed by the large wood-stove, which was constantly piping. Rich oak surroundings (including a hand crafted corner bar) made it all the more intimate, and Barbara’s fresh cuisine was out of this world. (cream of cauliflower soup for swooning!) Trails for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing were an opportunity for outdoor winter fun, and of course the views were spectacular.
Mornings consisted of meditation and ji gong. Owner, Barbara Weinberg, brings healing arts to the resort with such guidance, as well as acupuncture and massage. Dr. Paul Weinberg led me through the long body of land– through campgrounds and along the Indian Brook. It was a privilege to stay under such warm hospitality. As my first visit concludes, Cabot Shores reveals a place of both adventure and rejuvenation.

The best of Cape Breton
Good food, great hiking (following moose trails is best) unbelievable views of ocean & mountains, wildlife (whales, birds & moose) but best of all the chance to truly relax and meet people from all over the world.

Romantic Getaway
I contacted Paul earlier in this fall while in Texas for a few months on business. I had found Cabot Shores while researching a nice and quiet getaway spot along the Cabot Trail. Paul indicated that the resort would be shut down in late November but he was kind enough to leave a chalet open for our special weekend. Paul even arranged for Sheila to cook for us in the cottage, she provided breakfast, lunch and a wonderful dinner with a bottle of Champagne. I proposed to my girlfriend early Saturday morning while looking out to St. Ann's Bay from the Chalet's large upstairs windows. This was a truly magnificent weekend and experience, we look forward to visiting the resort again next summer. Thank you for your warm hospitality, great food and overall amazing experience.
