Winner of plum guide excellence award. Children over 12 welcome.

A handsome façade leads into this lovely home, with an enveloping sense of warmth and elegance in which each room has been thoughtfully decorated. The living room has two floor- to-ceiling shuttered windows looking onto the park. Vast ceilings with original coving lend an abundance of light and a sense of openness. There are two generous sofas to seat up to 6, a TV with DVD and a selection of films. Antique sideboards contain a selection of games and books. In front of a magnificent decorative stone and cast-iron fireplace, is a dining table to seat up to 5.

Wedding doors lead into a fully fitted hand-made kitchen, displaying pretty antique china and decorative detailing on the cupboards. Neatly arranged in a ‘U’-shape, the kitchen has a gas hob, two electric ovens with grill, a large fridge and separate freezer, a microwave and small dishwasher. There is a generous array of china, glass and cookware along with a full complement of cutlery.

The large and impressive Master bedroom is panelled from top to toe and contains a handsome stone and cast iron decorative fire-place, along with two vast floor-to-ceiling windows with their original cast iron balconettes. These glorious east facing sash windows frame a view of pretty gardens, allotments and mature copper beeches in the park and are complete with working shutters and grand-pa pulls, enabling you to open both top and bottom window for air circulation. In this inviting room is a 6’ bed, a pretty antique wardrobe with shelf space and drawers under, with an additional chest of drawers positioned between the windows. A mezzanine accessed by a narrow panelled staircase, leads to an enchanting bedroom space with a single bed, a small chest of drawers and easy chair. A low dividing wall enables you to enjoy all the space and views but is best suited for adults and responsible older children. Under the mezzanine is a lovely period style en-suite, fully tiled in cream stone, with a small corner shower, a generous hand-basin with plenty of storage under, a WC and an additional glass shelf for toiletries.

The second spacious bedroom has been symmetrically arranged with two smart 3’ beds that zip and link to become a 6’ double. Each bed has a generous chest of drawers with tall lamps, and a fitted wardrobe provides plenty of hanging space and overhead storage. Tongue and groove panelling and antique wall lights add a warm period feel. The large sash window has lovely west-facing views over the park.

A graceful period-style bathroom is fully tiled in cream stone with elegant mirrored wall panels. There is a generous hand-basin with storage under, a deep bath with hand-held shower set and a WC.

The Bath Spa train or coach stations are a 15-20 minute walk away.

Lovely Long Weekend in Bath
This was a lovely property, as advertised. We visited for a long weekend with our son and his girlfriend, and it was a perfect flat for the four of us. The high ceilings and views front and back are magnificent - you feel like you're in an episode of Bridgerton or Downton Abbey, or an Austen novel! The full containers of coffee and tea were a nice addition. Be prepared, one bathroom doesn't have a shower curtain so you have to sit in the bathtub to shower. The only thing that I would have appreciated is a hairdryer; travelling from Canada means we don't have room in our luggage for one, and I'm used to properties providing them.

Good deal
Property is centrally located. Parking in public car park was not an issue. Beware, only one bathroom has a shower and it is tiny!
