About this property

Innovative McCall Home with WiFi

A completely original design that brings people together in ways never before employed in a vacation home. The life-happens-in-the-kitchen design will be used in every home I build from now on. Period.

The space

This contemporary 1 bedroom, 1 Bath home lives bigger than the 1000SF on its 1/3 acre would lead you to believe. "Morning Wood" is a completely original and space efficient design perfect for up to four. The 500SF life-happens-in-the-kitchen ground floor brings everyone together to cook, relax, listen to music, and stream your online accounts, smart TV channels, or watch DVDs. The six rolling office chairs, that encircle the huge granite island, are comfortable enough to sit in all day or night, and the built-in foot rest makes kicking back a must. The HD flat screen is high enough above the sunken cooking area so it can't be blocked by the chef or trips to the elevated fridge. There's even a trash chute that eliminates the need to take out the trash.

The bathroom has no place to plug in hair tools so it's open more often. And because the shower is in its own room the toilet stays open. Each bedroom has its own vanity to make you pretty and to keep the shower/toilets vacant. The laundry room is upstairs where most of the laundry happens.

A gas stove makes cozy easy.

The day beds are a comfly place to hang with the group as well as camp all night.

A large circular driveway Keeps you off the street and can handle most trailers.

Completely stocked with cookware and utensils.

Guest access

You'll have access to the entire house except for locked owner areas and garage.

Other things to note

I live in this home when I’m not on the road. I will not be in McCall during your stay. I built this house myself over a period of two years. It was designed to bring our friends together and it does so better than any home of its size that I have experienced. We have so many good times here and we love it like a child. I hope you have some good times here as well.


I ride mountain bikes, ski, raft, backpack and surf. Father of one, grandfather of two. I'm a lucky boy.

Great stay.

Steve was a very receptive host. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. My wife, daughter and I stayed here for two months. Nice short drive to Brundage ski area.

McCall getaway

We loved our stay at this home. This is our second year returning to this same home because we loved it so much the first time. The teens loved the hot tub. I loved how easy it was to cook in the kitchen and everyone loved how comfortable the beds were.

Beautiful home with lots of amenities

Very modern home with lots of amenities to enjoy. Steve was great at communicating and promptly responded. There is no view of the lake, but had a great feel of being in nature.

Unique and positive stay

The house itself is very unique. The sinks in the bedrooms came in handy as we all got ready in the morning. The coffee bar location was something I had never seemed but I have to say I like it. It made for clutter free space in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable and we all slept great. The neighborhood felt very woodsy while still being closed to downtown. If you are planning a relaxing trip with some friends, book it!

Amazing getaway

Steve's cabin is a unique, thoughtful, and comfortable place to stay. The "life happens in the kitchen" concept was really cool. Although there were only two of us, I can imagine how fun it would be for larger groups to convene at the large counter over meals, games, conversation, etc. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed to prepare our meals. The hot tub was a great retreat during the rain and snow that we encountered in early May. Steve's communication was prompt and check in/out was a breeze. We will definitely be coming back.

Perfect location for a small group

We (4 adult women) had an awesome time at this property. We were pleasantly surprised by the mattress up in the loft. So with the daybeds? downstairs, the two bedrooms (king and queen) and the loft, we were able to spread out quite nicely. The bedroom sink/vanities and separate bathroom/shower room was super helpful. Everything was exactly as listed. There is no couch sitting area, but the chairs at the island and the nice footrest were SO comfy. We played games LATE into the night around that great table space. Everything was convenient and easy. We are very likely to book here again as soon as we can find the time to get away! THANK YOU!!!

Amazing!!!

If you are wanting a getaway weekend this is the place. If you are a quilter and want mini retreat this is the place. I got so many projects done for my quilt shop it was amazing. Thank you Steve for opening your house and having everything we needed. Seriously quilters if your wanting a place to sew for a weekend of longer this is the place. The table was awesome we set up for the 3 of us and made great for ironing and cutting! We will be booking again no doubt! I can't say enough about this place and owner.

This is the most functional home I have ever been in. The life-happen-in-the-kitchen concept has proven to be the perfect place to gather, cook, of watch something special. The vanities in the bedrooms, a separate shower room, laundry on the 2nd floor where laundry happens, all make sense.
