Sitting high overlooking Lake George in northeast Indiana/ southern Michigan, the Sunset Haus is a fantastic family retreat. The house offers accommodations for 10 with a broad and unobstructed view of Lake George. Sit on the porch overlooking the lake or head down to the lakefront boathouse to take in all Lake George has to offer.

Enjoy Lake George from our private boathouse, aboard 2 kayaks available for your use, or bring your own boat. Swim right from the end of the dock in one of the clearest glacier formed lakes in Indiana! Enjoy cooking in the well outfitted kitchen, or relax in one of the 3 upstairs bedrooms or the basement bunkhouse. It's all yours at the Sunset Haus on Lake George.

Note: A public boat launch is available, and you can tie off a boat 19' or less to our dock in a designated area. Just bring your own ropes and buoys! Pontoon boats cannot be accommodated. Tying off is at your own risk, and may not obstruct our neighbors use of the shared dock.

Relaxing at Lake George!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lake cottage! Nicely appointed and very liveable, everyone particularly enjoyed sitting on the front porch under the big maple tree, watching the boats on the water! Very relaxing! Thank you so much for sharing your propery with us!

Sunset Haus 2023

Our 3rd year staying here and the house is as nice as ever! Truly enjoyed the yard for the grandkids to play. Our only suggestion would be to improve the access to the lake itself. Getting in and out of the water can be a challenge, especially for the kids.

Sunset Haus is Wonderful

Six of us spent a great week at Sunset Haus in early August. We enjoyed every amenity, especially the boat house where we could leave all our water toys after a full day on the lake. The property is a great location for a relaxing stay and Chris and Becky are very easy to work with.

No hotels for us!

A fabulous place to stay! We had a family wedding to attend nearby at the Red Barn Acres, a beautiful venue. Sunset Haus was the best choice ever! Some lake time for the college kids, down time for the adults, and a mini get away weekend for our son & his wife who are expecting their first baby! The view is amazing! Fabulous, clean home that was large enough to not trip over each other while getting ready for the wedding! Beds were comfy and everyone slept through the evening thunderstorms! The hosts are spot on! Some pier time, sun bathing, kayaking, friendly neighbors, and beautiful sunsets did not disappoint!!

Sunset Haus 2022

Just as good as we remembered from last year! While not lake front, it has an excellent lake view with easy access to the water. The dock is excellent for sunning and playing. We'll be back!

We are one goofy family that truly loves to spend time together, a rarity in this day and age. We have spent years traveling, seeing the US from the windows of our travel trailer. We saw Alaska from the windows of a cruise ship (when we had the chance). Now we have found our favorite spot on the banks of Lake George, spending days on the water, and nights around a fire with friends.

Germans have the concept of a Stammtisch, a table at the local bar or restaurant reserved for "regulars." Locals would meet at the Stammtisch each day to visit and catch up. Heck, they were even served drinks in their own mug they would leave behind until next time. This is our Stammtisch, a place reserved for friends and family to gather, visit and catch up. We want you to become part of our extended family and join us at the local's table.

Why they chose this property

The Sunset Haus is a beautiful 3 story home that sits with a broad and almost unending view of Lake George built only 10 years ago. And Lake George....it's an all-sports during the day, a fisherman's paradise early mornings and late afternoons, and the home to Indiana's premium sailing club. The Sunset Haus sits on Spring Beach, one of the oldest neighborhoods in LG, which afford us a boathouse directly on the water. In a word, it is paradise.
