Absolutely wonderful stay! Everything was exactly as advertised. The cabin was clean and comfortable with great views and a fantastic ninja coffee maker. The host was wonderfully communicative. We especially loved the kayaks, it is such a beautiful lake.

All Around Great Vacation

Everything about this vacation was better than expected. Very secluded location on a very quiet lake. Kids loved fishing, swimming, smores, kayaking, watching the bald eagles flying, and late night games in the bunk house. We will certainly be vacationing here again. I highly recommend for anyone that is looking for some relaxation.

Lovely!

We had a fantastic few days. The weather was a bit cool for lake days but luckily the sun was out which made it warm enough to swimming after lunch each day. We loved the kayaks, paddle boards, and Lilly pad. My kids enjoyed fishing off the pier and caught quite a few fish. It was very quiet and peaceful and didn't even see other people until the last night we were there. We are talking about a return trip next summer, it was just what we wanted.

Scenic cottage retreat

We had a blast by the lake at Adam's cabin. Great view across the lake from the deck or yard. Good swimming spot off the dock. Enjoyed access to kayaks, row boat and SUP board and our whole group paddled across the lake to the island. Adam was responsive and helpful.

Relaxing get away

We had a 4 night stay and this place was amazing! Such a nice peaceful location with a stunning view. The home was really clean and super inviting. Adam provided excellent communicate prior to our stay with great recommendations. We brought our dogs along and our German Shephard prefered just laying on the porch and oberserving the site and sounds. The bed in the main house was very comfortable, we slept really well. We will definetly be planning another family trip back.

This property was very peaceful and had all the amenities we wanted.

My husband and I were looking for some peace and quiet and that is exactly what we got. Having the lakefront, dock, firepit and deck to have all of our meals on was wonderful. The property was comfortable and clean. The breeze took care of the temperature nicely but we did use the portable air conditioner for 2 nights, which was great to have. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place.

Peaceful and Quiet Getaway

What we loved about this cabin the most was the quiet. It's on a dead-end road with little to no traffic. We wanted a quiet getaway from the city and this fit the bill in that aspect perfectly. The lake is clean and our dog loved swimming everyday. The cabin was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. That is important to us. We could have used a couple more blankets, though. The cabin is also very well stocked in regards to most items, from dishes to a nice Weber Grill. Owner does request that you bring your own wood and charcoal. We were a bit disappointed that we had to bring our own wood, but we managed. It was pouring rain our first night and very damp and cold. Took us awhile to figure out how to turn on the gas fireplace as there were no instructions. We found all the knobs and such on the bottom inside panel, but if hubby had not been with me, I don't know that I would have figured it out. It did take some finesse. Same with the TV. No instructions. We finally figured out that there is no cable or antenna, so if you want any TV, you need to bring a laptop to hook up to. There is a quite large supply of CD movies, especially for the kids. It would also be nice to have some instructions on the Wii. That might have been fun, but we could not figure it out. It took a couple days for host to reply when we asked about the Fireplace and TV. Just for information, if you use the bunkhouse, we could not find a working inside light and if you plan on having small children in there, there is no bathroom, so plan on trips between the bunkhouse and house for bathroom. It is only steps away, though and well lit outside. We really enjoyed our stay here and our only negative was the water. We are used to well water, but the water in this cabin is VERY high in iron, so has a strong odor and of course. is something to deal with showering, etc. I highly recommend bringing bottled water. There is a water filter jug in the refrigerator.

Pet friendly! We needed a place for family to stay for a funeral in the Rhinelander area. The cabin has the basics but the separate “bunkhouse “ was great for older kids who want space or whoever wants peace and quiet. Or just a separate area. There is a backyard area with fire pit. Spacious for dogs, family and a fire. There are stairs down to the pier and lake. There is also a nice leveled platform area by the lake you can put chairs to sit while enjoying views of the water. We didn’t take advantage because we had a funeral to attend, but there’s also a huge floating pad and paddle boards in the garage to use if you want. There is also a large charcoal grill and outdoor table on the deck- and I don’t think we saw ONE mosquito! Coming from Pewaukee- which flooded about a month ago- it was a WONDERFUL difference!Kitchen was also stocked with plates, bowls, pots & pans & a new coffee maker. Our dogs LOVED the lake access and it was a great spot for our plans in Rhinelander and for us.

Perfect getaway

This place has gorgeous views and had everything we needed. My husband and I slept in the main cottage and all 4 of my kids slept in the bunkhouse. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make our meals. I enjoyed sitting on the deck in the mornings drinking my tea and we ate many of our meals on the deck, as well as played games. We also enjoyed sitting around the campfire. We used the kayaks, paddle boards, and mat in the water. It would have been nice to have a row boat to use for fishing, but the kayaks worked also. We took our 2 small dogs, who also enjoyed the water and playing in the yard. We went in to town 1 day and enjoyed ice cream at a local shop as well.Adam is very responsive and we would definitely stay here again.

You cannot shower here

The property is rustic. Pots and pans were dirty and over used. They definitely needed replacement. We had to buy a brand new pan in town. Wi-Fi was in and out all the time so don't feel that you will be able to have a decent phone call. But the main problem was the water pressure. Impossible to take a shower unless you are comfortable with it literally dripping on you. I have pictures of the water dripping from the shower head, kitchen sink faucet and bathroom sink faucet with the faucets wide open! The water here also smells like sulfur, really bad. Bring your own water. The host claims to have a purifier and softener installed but we saw no evidence of that at all. As a home owner, I have had several water purification systems in my lifetime so I know where to find them and what they look like. If you stay here, be prepared to live rough!

Annual Grandson Getaway

The property is private and very comfortable. It offered plenty of room to be together, but space enough for a moment alone. Beautiful outdoor area and deck. The lake is friendly to swimmers with a sand/rock bottom and there are stairs into the water if jumping is not your thing.

We are a family of five. We live a very busy life and wanted to spend more time with our kids while we have them. We wanted something that the family could rally around and enjoy together. We wanted cozy and complete with water and woods. We like to find any excuse to unplug and unwind. We have noticed the moods change for the better the closer we get to the cottage. It's a wonderful family experience that we want to share with others.

Why they chose this property

The big views from under mature oak trees are priceless. The breeze, the wind, the dock, the shore, the fishing, the views, the trails, the up north feel in every sense. The little hill provides great views but it is still easy to access the lake. Not a billy goat shore. We like the grass, the dead end road and the access to many hiking trails.

What makes this property unique

The bunk house is great for the kids. They feel like they are at camp. They can get away from their parents and tell stories and jokes and play games. They get their own space that they can destroy and nobody critiques them. The pier is great, with the ladder it makes it easier for swimmers of all ages. The water is dark but it is clean and refreshing. No algae.

They consistently provide great experiences for their guests
