About this property

Beautifully renovated traditional stone barn cottage.family and pet friendlyWiFi

Hayfield View is a family owned, dog friendly (2 dog maximum), cosy and welcoming holiday let a mere hop, skip and a jump away from Hayfield - one of the prettiest villages in the Peak District.

Our luxury camping barn used to house our collection of rescued chickens; now it’s a home from home for weary walkers. Situated a little way from the main house among nine acres of heather moorland and pasture, yet also within easy walking distance of our guest parking area, the barn sleeps two to six people. There’s a double bed and two single bunks, as well as a comfortable double sofa bed upstairs for use by larger groups or families.

To take full advantage of the views across the surrounding fields and hills, we’ve put the kitchen and living area upstairs and kept the bedroom and shower room downstairs. Facilities available include a combi microwave, hob, fridge, kettle, and toaster in the kitchen, and there’s a big TV and a large, comfy sofa in the living area.

There’ll be a warm welcome when you arrive, and all the essentials , (butter, milk, breakfast cereals, tea, coffee, biscuits and wine) to help you settle right in from the minute you get here. Plus we’re chock-full of local knowledge and will do our best to help make your Derbyshire holiday a truly memorable one.

When it’s time to get out and about, it’s an easy drive to Peak District highlights like the Hope Valley and Castleton, the lovely spa town of Buxton, and the bright lights of Manchester... You may never get that far, though, since there’s some amazing walking and mountain biking country right outside our door: the gate at the rear of our property opens directly onto a lane leading up into the hills and freedom!

Please note that access to the upstairs living room and kitchen is via a beautiful spiral staircase which, while lovely (and space-saving!), may be a problem for some. If you think you or your pet might struggle with the stairs, please give us a call and ask any questions you need to before making the decision to book your stay. Thank you.

Chicken barn delight
Quiet place with easy parking. The upstairs kitchen and lounge is actually very comfortable. There are quite a few stairs to climb before you get to the barn, don’t bring too many suitcases. If you travel a lot as we do you realize quickly how convenient it is having bedrooms downstairs. The walk in shower is a great touch, being 6’4 makes having showers very comfortable.

Fantastic base for walking
We had a brilliant stay. It was lovely to be able to go on walks straight from the property. Our dog loved running around in the huge space available from the front door. The cottage is really cozy and has everything we needed.

Chinley Moor House has been part of our family for a long time. Linda was born and grew up here, and we bought the house from Linda's parents after the birth of our first son, to bring up our own family in. Our two sons are now grown up and, since our retirement, we've turned our attention to making our home pay its way!
We love the regular visits we have from our 11 year old Grandson who enjoys walking the many hilly walks from our doorstep.

Why they chose this property

It is in a beautiful location and stands on its own in 8 acres of grassland.
It is quiet, warm and cosy and has been described as' really quirky'
You can walk from your door up the lane to many Peak District walks-- Kinder Scout, Edale etc
The property is very well stocked and our guests comment on the little extras available in the barn that make their stay extra special.
