About this property

Beautiful barn conversion in South Norfolk

A single storey barn conversion located in a small village near to Norwich. The barn is located within the garden of our home and has ample parking and terraces to front and back for al fresco dining. The interior is light and airy - yet full central heating ensures it's warm and toasty in the winter months. The bedroom has a deluxe king-sized bed, bedside tables with lights, digital radio and chest of drawers, with an ensuite shower room. The large living area has 2 sofas (1 sofa bed), TV (free view channels plus radio) and French doors leading onto front terrace and parking and back terrace with table and chairs for a quiet drink as the sun sets over the fields. The fully fitted galley kitchen comprises - Hob/oven with extractor fan, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and combined washing machine and tumble drier. There is ample crockery, cutlery, pans etc, also a microwave and toaster so you can collect a ready meal to warm up, have a take out from the local pub or cook up a gourmet dinner for two!
The barn is situated in a small village which is surrounded by rolling countryside yet it is only 7 miles south of the ancient and beautiful cathedral city of Norwich. The immediate area is a haven for wildlife - barn owls, small owls, bats, buzzards, marsh harriers, munjac, Chinese water deer and roe deer, rabbits and hares are all frequently seen and heard (as well as our own cheeky chickens) The famous Wheatfen Nature Reserve is a short walk away (5 minutes drive). The village also has it's own community reserve as well as a staithe and broad with bird hide and footpath leading to the Wherryman's Way, along the River Yare and if you need a little refreshment, the village pub or Post Office with tea room is on hand. Further afield - the coast is a 45 minute drive (Southwold/Winterton) and the North Norfolk coast is an hour away. The area has a wealth of local produce on offer for those who like to "eat local" - with 2 award winning farm shops a 5 minute drive away, a perfect Portuguese Patisserie and a variety of local pubs situated on the nearby River Yare - indeed the award winning Winberri vineyard is just over the back field. We look forward to welcoming you to the Barn at The Well House.

Excellent!
Thank you, Lisa, for making our stay so comfortable. Your barn was spotlessly clean and contained everything we needed for our 2 night stay. We very much appreciated the coffee, tea, sugar, pint of milk and Easter eggs you provided for us upon arrival - a lovely, thoughtful touch. We thought your communication was excellent and we thank you for the tips you happily gave about the local bus and attractions. Ours was a very enjoyable stay :)

A Beautiful Place to Stay
This accommodation must rank as one of the best holiday stays I have ever booked in the UK. The first thing you notice when you enter the cottage is the spaciousness, followed by the natural light and comfortable ambiance that you always wish for in a holiday stay, but too often do not find. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need, including a dishwasher and a washing machine. The cottage is in the middle of a beautiful Norfolk village, where the local shop is just a 5-minute walk away - and it sells wine. Lisa, our host, lives in the property just behind the cottage and was a delight to talk, so very friendly and a mine of local knowledge. We will most definitely try and book this cottage again when next in the area.

Exploring Norfolk
We had never been to Norfolk, so wanted a base for this trip. We were not disappointed, as the Barn was all we needed, in a very pleasant location.

Our stay at the converted barn at Well Cottage
The barn is so inviting, warm and comfortable. It has everything required for a holiday, comfortable furniture, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. I have already recommended it to friends and neighbours. Thank you so much Lisa.
