About this property
Terrace waterside views.Au bord de l'eau à Marseillan. Booking 2026 now
The property is in Marseillan, South of France overlooking the waters-edge from the sunny, south facing terrace and is a gorgeous, stylish, architect-designed property with air conditioning and wifi. Converted from an old Marseillan wine warehouse it enjoys stunning views in the sun. Many UK flights from Luton, Stansted and more to Beziers and Montpellier. Also flights from Ireland, Stockholm, Paris and Germany.
The property has 2 bedrooms (a good double and large twin). If you like the sun this is the property to book as there is a large terrace (as in the pictures) which faces the south and gets sun from morning until sun down in the evening, for dining/sunning and overlooking Marseillan waterside it is ideal for a couple or family.
Watch people strolling along the waterside from the terrace, see the yachts and barges come and go or take a stroll around the corner to the many portside cafes and restaurants.
The terrace gets the sun until the sun goes down and has a table for dining with 4 chairs and two lounging chairs. In high summer the terrace enjoys sun at the front of the terrace and shade at the back ( it often gets too hot to be in the sun all day!)The views across the waterside constantly stun.
This attractive, new property has a spacious living, dining and kitchen area:
-Wifi included
-Air conditioning included - a must for June, July, August and September.
-New large bathroom with relaxing bath and shower over!
-Fridge with freezer
-TV with Netflix etc with your log in.
-Wifi is included so bring your tablets for surfing and viewing via an online provider.
-Location is by the waterfront by the Port Rive Gauche and near portside cafes
Just a few minutes walk away from the property is a super watersports area with cafe. At the water sports 'Kithau' you can paddle board, kayak or learn to wind surf there is even a 'babyski' school (from 3 years). Also past here are some tennis courts.
If holidaying with small children there is a lovely park by the waterside just a few minutes walk with childrens climbing frame , swings, skareboard area etc and brick BBQ s for all to use.
Just past the park is a new selection of stylish but simple waterside restaurants serving smoked sardines, moules, oysters and local wine.
Marseillan is a lovely port and a stopping point for those travelling along the Canal du Midi. Steeped in history Marseillan is possibly the oldest village in France. The area was originally settled by the Greeks more than 2500 years ago and was a very active Roman commercial centre.
With an old village it is still relatively unknown but once you know about it beware as you will want to keep coming back! There are about 15-20 places to eat, shops selling everything you need - boulangeries, pharmacies, greengrocers, fish, meat and everyday essentials (all within a short walk).
Travel a little further afield and you can visit the old port of Sete, historical Pezenas, Carcassonne, Aigues Mortes, riverside villages, mountains, gorges and sweet villages such as Bouzigues aptly named for a bouzie, fishy lunch.
Getting to Marseillan is by flights to 4 airports within driving distance, nearest is Beziers (20 mins drive), Montpellier (50 mins drive), Nimes (60 minutes drive) and Carcassonne (about 75 mins drive). UK flights are from Luton, Stansted, Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh and more (depending on time of year). Flights with Ryanair and Easyjet. Also you can get a Eurostar train from London to Agde. Many people from the UK drive. Roadside parking is available.
Start days tend to be Friday or Saturday to tie in with flights but we can be flexible if you ask by scrolling down to my name and enquiring. We can accept short breaks of 3-5 nights just email and ask.

About the host
Hosted by Diane Wray
I live in London but get to Marseillan about once a month for my 'french fix' which includes the best croissants in the world from the Marseillan boulangerie and the best wine in France also from my local vineyard for under 2 euros a bottle -yes thats 2 euros! My property is looked after when I am not there by Carole who speaks English and French. diane wray owner marseillan accommodation.
Why they chose this property
l bought this stylish, luxury apartment due to its portside location (I can spend hours people watching especially seeing people come for a days sailing or just to visit to Marseillan and its beautiful port). We are lucky because the waterside cafes are just two minutes stroll and nearby is the waterside for paddling, tennis courts, a park with BBQs and a watersports area where you can learn to kayak, paddleboard or wakesurf!
What makes this property unique
The view from the terrace while enjoying the sun until sundown is one of the best features of this Marseillan accommodation holiday rental. If you find the sun too hot at the back of the terrace there is lots of shade in the summer or you can just wander to one of the nearby cafes.
