We are among the working "retired" community. Leigh is a retired operations engineer for the local CBS TV affiliate, Franck speaks fluent French, some Italian and is a retired symphony oboe soloist and full-time university music faculty member/arts administrator. We adore nature photography and hiking in the High Sonoran Desert, so when we had the chance to purchase a large, gorgeous home in total view of the stately Four Peaks Mtn range, magical Weaver's Needle within the historic Superstition Mountains (home of the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine), the Mazatzal mountains to the north and steps from the Tonto National Forest trailhead #2119 - we jumped on it!

The house is too big for just 2 people - so we want to share it with guests and friends from around the world. You will have the entire Guest Wing (with a unique historic Frank Lloyd Wright privacy door) to yourself. Your single, large bedroom boasts a comfy King-size bed, has a large closet with built-in shelves and chest of drawers - plus a lovely TV/Sitting room complete with a 55" Smart TV and Queen Murphy bed (for any extra family members traveling with you). The split efficiency kitchenette offers nearly everything you'll need (including an electric oven). Laundry room with extra-capacity LG W/D is shared with us, occasionally. The huge outdoor Wrap-around Patio is an amazing experience and really made the difference with us purchasing the house - as we get treated to amazing sunrises, sunsets and star-filled nights. Guests often unwind outdoors, using the professional-grade built-in gas grill barbecue on the patio cooking island. The house is nestled in an area which is known for its 5-acre horse properties, so it has a feeling of complete open-nature yet is only 15 minutes from the Pinnacle Peak area of N. Scottsdale. We are 1.5 miles past the last stretch of pavement next to Trilogy at Rio Verde Golf Community - but the dirt roads are wide. Sports cars with low clearance would not fit in here, but the vehicle you use to go hiking, mountain-biking, cycling or horseback riding will do just fine!

The list is endless if you love being smack-dab in the middle of natural, national forest lands - with thousands of stately Saguaros standing silent guard over the bunnies, javelina, coyotes, jack-rabbits, horses and an impressive array of hawks, owls, herons and eagles nearby! Plus, trails...trails...trails... So many that even if you stayed with us for several weeks, you need never repeat the same trail if you so choose - there's that many within the massive parks either steps or a stone's throw from our front door!
