About this property

Cozy Casita in historic Houston Heights

Our Casita is located in Historic Houston Heights, 5 minutes NW of downtown with easy access to Houston hot spots—the Galleria, Hermann Park, the Zoo, Museums, the Medical Center, Minute Maid Park, NRG Stadium and the Toyota Center. The Heights is Houston's oldest planned community (circa 1890). Residents once flocked to the area to escape the big city, but today it’s home to diverse Houstonians that are drawn to its rich architecture, quaint boutiques, antique havens, numerous restaurants, hike and bike trails, & lots of green space.

The Casita is a separate structure behind our home. We are located in a quiet, residential neighborhood with plenty of on street parking. There is a queen size bed, full bathroom with tub/shower and small kitchen equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and undercounter refrigerator. THERE IS NO STOVE OR OVEN. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, utensils and we provide a Keurig coffee machine, tea and snacks. A large comfy recliner for reading, relaxing and watching TV is provided. The 32-inch smart TV has Hulu + LiveTV, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Roku. The bar is a great place to work or surf the internet with high speed Wifi. There is a super quiet split system AC and heat. Enjoy the outdoors on the patio and please feel free to use our gas grill.
NO CLOSET IN THE CASITA. We have an over-the-door rack to hang clothes. And one drawer available in the Armoire.

Perfect place to stay.
We stayed here while visiting my daughter over the New Years Holiday. It was the perfect place to stay. It’s in a safe neighborhood and you can walk to many places. We walked back and forth to my daughter’s house, walked to church and to a few stores. Pamela dnd Mark were great hosts.

Excellent all around, highly recommend !
I loved staying at the Casita. The location is great and close to many attractions and museums, downtown, stores, restaurants and highways. The historic neighborhood is beautiful, and the patio and backyard is really peaceful and serene with so many beautiful flowering plants. The Casita is so clean and comfortable and felt safe with the gate and keypad lock with deadbolt. So many extras here, loved the fridge, toaster oven, and keurig. Great value and loved the hosts, Pam and Mark are so nice and really go above and beyond for their guests. 10 out of 10, would stay here again and highly recommend !!

Hello, we're Mark and Pam. I'm a native Houstonian and Mark is originally from Chicago. We have made our home in the Heights for many years and love it! We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the Heights or about Houston. We live on-site and are usually available.
Mark is an architectural photographer and I am a retired attorney. We both love the outdoors, especially sailing on our Pearson sailboat which we keep in Galveston. We enjoy movies, travelling, cooking and spending time with family and friends. We have a 4 year old granddaughter who spends a lot of time with us.

Why they chose this property

The Heights is a unique and historic neighborhood, centrally located, minutes from downtown and the Theater district and a short drive to The Galleria, the Medical Center, Hermann Park and the zoo, Memorial Park Golf Course, Running Center, Hike and Bike trails and much more. We are within walking distance of numerous restaurants and the Hike and Bike trail that runs to downtown and the park on Allen Parkway and Memorial drive. Bikes are available throughout the neighborhood.
