I was not impressed

I booked the house for a work trip for three weeks. The grill was filthy, rusted, and the electronic ignite didn't work. It took two weeks to get a replacement. When the replacement arrived, the old one was left there as well. No grill brush provided to clean it and no cover to protect it from the rain. The carpet on the stairs and upstairs in the bunkbed room was dirty with dark spots. The outdoor patio furniture was dirty and torn. Housekeeping attempted to launder it but ended up throwing the cushions in the trash. Replacements were ordered but would not arrive during my stay. That means I wasn't able to use my balcony my entire stay. I have photos of everything. The bedroom didn't have curtains so I was awake every morning as the sun came up and the tv was in the closet leaving little to no space to hang my clothes. This property is probably fine for a night or two but not three weeks. I enjoyed the area and walking in the mornings before work so it wasn't all bad. I would rent in the area again but not this particular property.

Red cottage retreat

The cottage was clean and cozy. The second "bedroom" is just a den, with a room divider screen for privacy. The twin bunk beds are not stacked, but are side by side. If you plan to use the kitchen, be sure to bring a few things that are missing: whisk, hot pads, sponge for dishes. Also, bring your own laundry detergent if you plan to do any laundry (families with kids take note!). It was overall adequate for our needs staying in the area to explore the big state parks. The area was quiet (it was off-season), and even though communications said we needed a parking permit, none was left for us in the cottage, and outreach to the management team via text received no reply. I suspect this is a bigger issue during the high season.

Great for a short getaway

Cozy cabin outside of Ottawa and a short drive to Starved Rock. The second bedroom is an open den—not a separate bedroom with a door, although there was a screen in the master bedroom closet for a little more privacy. I wasn’t able to reach management after hours when I realized there were no sheets or blankets for the sofa bed but they did respond once the office reopened in the morning. Overall a good stay!

Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Loved the pools, playground for my grandson and really enjoyed the Pontoon boat. I was very happy to see that it was all cleaned and wiped down before we were allowed to board.
