About this property

2 Bedroom Coffee Farm in the Cool Kona Highlands with Ocean Views

Please watch the video (3rd in the photos section) for a walk through tour. It shows the setting and every room.

Located at 2500 feet elevation, we offer our downstairs, two-bedroom, one-bathroom ohana. Our house is located on a quiet Kona coffee farm. We enjoy wonderful ocean views, and cool mountain mornings. Our farm features two acres of coffee and the house is located at the end of a long gated driveway. There are trees everywhere and we border the state forest. Our house is a perfect place to make your base-camp and then head out each day for your adventures.

The rental is the entire downstairs (separated from our upstairs by an exterior stair case). The downstairs has two separate bedrooms with a large family room in the middle. The kitchen has a refrigerator, sink, microwave, cook top, and toaster oven (large enough for 12" pizza or lasagna) for cooking. We have a washer and dryer in our house upstairs and can take care of your laundry for a small fee if needed.

We are located in the quiet Kona highlands in Holualoa. Up here the air is crisp, the stars are bright, and we are often blessed with afternoon showers that water our coffee and tropical plants. We are a little under 20 minutes from downtown Kona, the airport, Walmart, Safeway, Target, and Costco.

Please note the following about our property: It is our downstairs, so you will hear us at times. We have two children so on weekdays you can hear us upstairs getting ready for school. Also, it is a working coffee farm, so sometimes you may hear us mowing or doing work around the property.

Finally, living up in the wild hills, we have many animal encounters. You may see wild pigs, wild cows, turkeys, goats, pheasants, geckos, chameleons, and many beautiful birds. We have a friendly outdoor cat that may walk up to you meowing and wanting some love.

We live here and are happy to give you recommendations for activities, adventures, or answer any questions you have. If you are staying multiple days, we are sometimes available to give you a quick coffee tour. Aloha and we look forward to meeting you.

Please Note:
Your daily rate includes the following two taxes: GET Tax 4.7120% & TAT Tax 10.25%. This means there is no extra charges upon your arrival.

Serene stay on a lovely coffee farm!
After spending two nights inside Volcanoes national park and two nights in the touristy part of Kailua Kona, staying in this quiet and tranquil property for our last two nights was the perfect way to end our vacation! It is away from the main tourist hub and yet close enough to get to restaurants in Kailua Kona within 15 min. We enjoyed the resident cat Meow Meow, the sheep on the farm, the lush coffee trees and the mesmerizing morning clouds that enveloped the tree tops. The clouds clear by the afternoon and you can see the ocean in the distance! We found the space comfortable and spacious, and our host both friendly and attentive to our needs.

Great Stay!
The house was clean and cozy feeling, on a beautiful property in a great location. They provided everything our family of 4 needed for our stay, and Kendall even came down to introduce himself and give us some great tips for exploring the area. We enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend Kendall and his home.

Great location
The location was great, in the highlands above Kona with a partial ocean view. This is a downstairs unit with the property owners living upstairs. We are early risers and didn't mind the mild noise that comes from getting kids off to school. The cat was a riot trying to make us cave in and give her treats. If you stay here bring quarters - Meow Meow will be very happy!

Amazing place to stay! 10/10
We had the absolute best time staying at this property on the Big Island! The hosts were so friendly, responsive, and accommodating during our stay, and roast some darn good Kona coffee. They were kind enough to give us some samples at the start of our stay! The house had plenty of amenities for our week stay, some basic condiments, plenty of cookware, snorkel/beach gear, and even some toiletries. It was very clean and well taken care-of, and they included extra towels already in our room which was great, as we stayed for 6 nights. The roaming cat Meow-Meow was a highlight, as she greeted us in the mornings and evenings when we returned and kindly begged us for some treats, which we were happy to oblige! The location was perfect for us - we had a rental car, and were able to reach all parts of the island with this as our home base. Very close to downtown Kona, and in a beautiful, scenic location up on the mountain side where you can see the ocean from the lanai :) My friends and I said we would stay here again in a heartbeat should we ever get to come back to this beautiful island! 10/10 highly recommend this spot!

Great property in a coffee farm
The property was very clean and comfortable. It was surrounded by coffee plants up on a hill in a very nice and quiet area. We enjoyed the photos on the wall and the trivial questions. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the property. I would definitely recommend it to travelers.

We love coffee and nature, so a Kona Coffee farm is our perfect home. One of us is a teacher and the other works on a scuba diving boat and farms. We have two young kids. We love hosting adventurous and curious people.

Why they chose this property

Up in the hills above downtown Kona, we enjoy cooler weather and peace.
