300 YARDS from the OCEAN FRONT!!! Located in the heart of DUCK!! New Kitchen!!!

We are excited to share our band new kitchen. It was completed March 2025!

The Sandy Duck is a charming colorful cottage that sits in a perfect location - exactly between the ocean and the sound in Duck, NC. A ten-minute walk can take you to the ocean, and easy boardwalk access to the beach, or to the sound and the quaint village of Duck, which offers unique shops and restaurants.

The Sandy Duck features four bedrooms and three full bathrooms, a well stocked , open kitchen perfect for creating family meals, and lots of deck space to enjoy your morning coffee, sun bathe, or take an afternoon break from the beach.

When it's beach time, there's a large wheeled carrier to transport the beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and toys which are provided, or you can pack up your car and drive 300 yards to the beach access where guests have free parking. After the beach, rinse off in the large outdoor shower, complete with a seated changing area.

When it's time for a break from the beach, relax in the large rope hammock, play a game of horseshoes, or bring (or rent) bikes to experience Duck's multi-use paths and trails.

In the evening, stroll down to Duck's unique sound side boardwalk where you can shop, drink, and dine while taking in the spectacular sunsets. The boardwalk, which has been featured in numerous travel periodicals, runs the entire length of the town and offers places for fishing, crabbing, or just setting off on your paddle-board or kayak. It also connects to the Duck Town Park, with over 11 acres of natural beauty including trails through the maritime forest and willow swamp, open green space, and amphitheater, picnic areas, and playground.

Great place!

This was a family vacation and even with a tropical storm, we had a blast! The house was comfy and was what we read in the description. We were close to the beach, loved the atmosphere of the neighborhood.

Duck beach house

Our second time here, and enjoyed every minute, again. Great location, plenty of room for our 5 adults, really enjoyed the enclosed porch. Excellent communication with owner. Everyone in our party looking forward to coming back!

Lovely Place

We stayed here with our young adult sons during March for a few days. The house was lovely and clean. The screened off porch is fantastic for warm days. Easy walk to the beach or Duck boardwalk.

Really a fantastic spot.

We loved the house and the location was amazing. We walked to everything we needed and the beach. We did a few short drives to museums and sightseeing activities. Loved the house. It was clean and cozy and had everything we needed.

Comfortable and convenient

We were very happy with our 6 night stay in April. The house was comfortable for 4 adults and we really liked hanging out on the screen porch. The location was great with a 5 minute walk to the beach and about 15 minute walk to downtown Duck. We drove up to Corolla and down to Nags Head to explore other areas and enjoy activities like the Wright Bothers Memorial, Elizabethan Gardens, Lost Colony National Park and the Wild Horse Adventure tour. We were very happy we chose Duck for our base. The downtown is very appealing with a great boardwalk, nice shops and good restaurants.

The property manager was amazing! Obviously, this is a stressful time, but she accommodated us and helped us feel at ease. Location is amazing - you can see the sound and the ocean both, if you stand in front of the house. We will definitely consider renting again!

Great Stay

On a family vacation the house was in close proximity to both town and the beach. We were able to walk everywhere. The hosts had a book of suggestions for restaurants, day trips and local businesses to check out. Those suggestions were helpful and appreciated. The management was responsive and communicated well. The house was comfortable.

Great location to beach & town!!

We enjoyed our stay very much! Great house and great location to the beach and town of Duck. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch!!! One thing to note: there is new construction happening directly in front of the home and they started every morning by 7:15 am and went until 5 pm. A bit disappointed with that but really nothing you can do about it. Overall, we had a fantastic time in Duck in this home!!

Very Pleased

The check in/out process was very easy and efficient. The property management group was easy to get in contact wit if we needed anything and even offered to have a new tent dropped off to us during our stay. The house was in a great location with access to the beach and the sounds only a couple hundred yards each way. Centralized location to shops and restaurants with something everyone might like. Overall we were very pleased with this property and would like to return in the past.

Step back in time

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here. It was a bit like staying at Grandma and Grandpa's house as there are some updates but other parts of the house are showing their age. It was one of the first houses built in Duck. We were disappointed to find that there was no hot tub as the VRBO description says there is one. We would definitely stay here again as the place was clean, the screened porch was AMAZING, the location to the beach and town were both a very easy walk, and though dated it was clean and comfortable.

Lovely Duck beach house

Our third stay at this house, this time with a completely new kitchen and fresh paint in the family room. Add this to the recent master suite and screened porch upgrades, and our experience just keeps getting better! Very convenient to the beach and the village. Our 7 person group thoroughly enjoyed our 10 night stay, plenty of room for everone.

I don’t think the pictures do this house justice. It was the perfect amount of space for our family of 6. The kitchen is huge and has everything you need. The location can’t be beat. Super quick walk to the beach or town for ice cream and sunsets. We’ll definitely stay again
