About this property
Walk to Lambertville - Sleeps 10 - Group Retreat
Walk to Lambertville and New Hope from the Barn Door Cottage, a restored and expanded cottage located directly across from the Delaware Canal Towpath. Guests love being able to walk to restaurants, shops, galleries, festivals, and local events while still enjoying a private home with outdoor space.
The cottage is especially popular for family gatherings, wedding weekends, girls' trips, reunions, Princeton-area events, and group getaways. The open floor plan connects the kitchen, dining room, and living room, creating a comfortable space for meals, conversation, games, and spending time together. The indoor living areas flow directly onto the patio and fenced backyard, making it easy for groups to gather both inside and outside.
The home accommodates up to 10 guests in 3 bedrooms with flexible sleeping arrangements. The primary bedroom features a king bed, a reading nook with a daybed and trundle, and a large walk-in closet housing an additional daybed and trundle. The additional bedrooms each contain a queen bed. This layout works especially well for families with children, cousins traveling together, girls' weekends, wedding parties, and other groups that want to stay together while still enjoying the comfort of a whole house.
Guests consistently praise the cottage for its cleanliness, comfort, location, and thoughtful amenities. We work hard to ensure the property is exceptionally clean and well stocked for every stay.
Outside, guests enjoy a fenced backyard, patio, grill, fire pit, and complimentary bicycles. Many guests spend part of their stay exploring the Delaware Canal Towpath directly across the street or walking into Lambertville and New Hope.
The cottage is pet-friendly with prior approval. The fenced yard provides outdoor space that many guests traveling with dogs appreciate.
For guests who need to work remotely, the house includes high-speed Wi-Fi, wired internet connections, and dedicated workspaces. Each bedroom includes a desk, and charging stations are located throughout the house.
On-street parking is available, and loading and unloading is easy directly in front of the garage.
Please note that a one-time setup and linen fee may apply for larger groups. Rather than charging per guest per night, we use a setup-based approach that helps cover the additional linens, towels, quilts, amenities, and preparation required for larger groups while maintaining the cleanliness standards reflected in our guest reviews.

This house was amazing! The hosts were absolutely lovely people! As a type A planner, I had some questions beforehand and Devon was quick with her replies and always so kind. We had no issues during our stay at all. The house was in easy walking distance to Lambertville town area and New Hope. We stayed as a group of 10 prior to the wedding. The fire pit was perfect for post wedding debriefs as well. We would 100% book again and highly recommend for any groups!
The Barn Door cottage took care of our three generation family well! The house was nicely appointed, warm, and clean. Being within walking distance of both downtown Lambertville as well as New Hope was a super bonus! Our host was extremely responsive to all questions.....and the check-in/check-out process was easy and straightforward. Our overall stay there was a positive experience!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We would love to host you again.
Great property. Everything was really well stocked with lots of nice quality linens and everything you could need. Everything felt to be of really good quality, and the property is nicer in person than the pictures. Hosts are very responsive to questions. Location was great for accessing downtown shops and restaurants, a short drive although you could walk it if so inclined. Close to a fairly busy road but I can't say the road noise ever bothered us.
Loved the stay. House was fully stocked and great communication from Devon. Made us feel comfortable and special. Location is a 10 min walk to Lambertville/new hope bridge

Thank you for your kind words. Please come and stay with us again.
Wonderful location within walking distance of both Lambertville center and across the bridge to New Hope, PA. Great communication prior to and during from gracious hosts who even decorated for our family Christmas week! Comfortable beds, nice living room to watch TV or just chat. Loved our stay!
We rented this lovely cottage house in Lambertville for a nearby wedding weekend. It was perfect for five adults plus a dog. The house is charming, has a cute backyard, and is located within walking or easy driving distance to everything in the area. The entire home was lovingly decorated and well stocked, even with extra toothbrushes, which we had to use! The bed linens, pillows and bath towels were hotel quality and super comfortable. Would highly recommend for a visit to the Lambertville/New Hope/Stockton area.

We were all so very impressed with this property. Such a beautiful home. A girls getaway. We each had our own bedroom and we appreciated that there was a bedroom on the main floor. We used the fire pit every night. Would stay again. Thank you!
The property was beautiful and perfect for a girls' trip. Communication with Devon was seamless. Everyone on the trip was saying how great the house was and we especially appreciated the cleanliness along with the amenities, which were very appreciated!

Seetha, you and your group were truly great guests. We would have you back anytime and highly recommend you to other hosts. Please come see us again.
This is an exceptional property- you can tell that the owners put a lot of care and time into welcoming guests to their home. From the furnishings to the little store room of essentials (toothpaste, toiletries, etc.) this home is so inviting. No cheap, uncomfortable big box store furniture here! The owner was beyond accommodating and communicative. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend!
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Barn Door Cottage. Plenty of parking on the street, and close to everything in Lambertville and New Hope.
The house was so clean and comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything and were so kind to leave extras of small items in the pantry. We would absolutely recommend this property and will definitely stay again if we get the chance.

Lauren, thank you for such a lovely review. We sincerely appreciated having you and your family stay with us.
We loved our stay at the Barn Door Cottage! We surprised my husband for his 60th birthday and all the kids were able to celebrate together. The house is gorgeous with plenty of room for us all. We were especially excited to be able to bring our granddog. So close to town and all the sites, loved the fire pit and we made s’mores, check in was easy, lots of parking, and Devon and Jim kindly let us have a late check out. Perfect!
We loved this property. It has updated features in a rustic setting. Great showers, bathrooms and beds. Very clean and organized. Everything we needed. We were in town for a family wedding and enjoyed having time with our adult children who all live in different places. We had great downtime with them. Lovely home!

Thank you for staying with us. Please come again. You and your family are wonderful guests.
We had a wonderful time. The house was perfect! There were 3 couples and plenty of room for all of us. So nice to stay in a house and not a hotel - easier to hang out with everyone and reminisce. It was nice to be able to walk into Lambertville and New Hope and explore the cute towns. Loved all the different restaurants to choose from. Took walks along the canal. We can’t thank Devon and Jim enough for sharing their beautiful house with us for the week!
Quick and easy walk to the tow path that takes you into downtown area with shops and restaurants. Lovely patio with firepit and the beautiful house is perfect for gathering, eating and hanging out. We would highly recommend this house. The communication was thoughtful. The replies were quick. The extra touches were lovely.

Thank you for staying with us. It is wonderfu to have guests appreciate the house.
Stayed for a week over Thanksgiving. We had a great visit. The house was spotless when we arrived. The kitchen has everything you might need (and more). The three bedrooms are good size too. There isn't a driveway where we could park. But we had no problem parking on the street near the house. The house is close to the tow path (running, biking or walking) and near Lambertville. Communication with our hosts was great. I highly recommend staying at the house.

About the host
Hosted by DEVON REIMER
Jim and I have a passion for renovating homes and making them into comfortable and useful spaces. Homes want to be loved and we are forever trying to give love to our properties. We get great joy from watching the evolution of each of properties through time. I was raised on a farm and my family made a living with horses and dogs. My father was a racehorse trainer and my mother taught horseback riding while also breeding and showing dogs. My educational background is in mathematics and statistics and it has served me well in my career. Basically, I love animals, math and old homes!
Why they chose this property
We lived in this house for 7 years before moving to a farm nearby. We worked to make this a lovely place to stay and it is truly a lovely place to stay and enjoy with a group.
