Located in Saugerties, this farm stay is in the mountains and on the waterfront. Hunter Mountain and Kaaterskill Falls are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda. Kiwanis Ice Arena and Mountain Top Arboretum are also worth visiting. Make sure you get close to the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
Nestled in the foothills of The Catskill Mountains, RushBrook Lodge is a renovated farmhouse built in 1825 on a hundred acre woodland. It was a popular vacation boarding house in the 1940s, 50's and 60’s where families would spend their vacation every year. Inspired by the peaceful recreation this brought to so many, we have re-invented it for a new generation of nature lovers. Rushbrook is sure to satisfy your nostalgia for a slower time.
The lodge has been adapted into a two family home - this listing is for the whole lodge which includes The Creek Side A as well as The Meadow Side B. There are 2 kitchens, 2 living rooms and 2 dens. There is an adjoining hallway that makes it easy and comfortable for family and friends to vacation together yet have plenty of private space. It accommodates up to 8 guests.
Each side is stocked with all the amenities you need when you are away. Both have two queen bedrooms and two newly renovated full bathrooms featuring luxurious calacatta marble. There is a total of 4 queen bedrooms plus 1 extra bedroom with a full bed and a TV on the 1st floor. There are 4 full bathrooms and plenty of room to hang out with family and friends or to steal away on your own.
The Creek Side - A has a vintage kitchen and the living room has a fireplace and pine paneling milled from our woods decades ago. The furnishings give a nod to the farmhouse it was - a charming mix of now and then. There's a family room and an office/bonus bedroon with smart TVs. The two queen bedrooms have an adjoining door that can be locked from each side.
The Meadow Side - B has a little more space. There's a higher ceiling in the living room which is decorated with antique cottage and Eastlake pieces. The vintage kitchen, dining room, and large screen home theater make up the great room.
From the porch you can see our picturesque red barn across the quiet country lane. There’s a stone balcony that’s a wonderful spot to watch the Plattekill Creek rush by. Out back is 100 acres with a mile long trail.
This dreamy four season retreat awaits you and your family and friends…we can’t wait to share Rushbrook Lodge with you!

Situated on the waterfront, this farm stay is 0.4 mi (0.6 km) from Catskill State Park and within 6 miles (10 km) of Indian Head Mountain and Vinnie's Farm Market. Opus 40 and HITS-on-the-Hudson are also within 9 miles (15 km).
7 knitters went to the biggest yarn festival in Rhinebeck. We stayed at this fabulous property! Excellent location, perfect for a group and an outstanding host. Great experience
Having stayed at several Catskills properties in the past, we had fairly high expectations, but they were easily exceeded. The house, property, and hosts were magnificent.
The house was impeccably clean, well-stocked, and comfortable. The grounds were amazing. A hundred acres to explore! (Many winnie-the-pooh jokes were made.)
And the hosts were kind, prompt, and helpful. Jolene answered all my questions and made us feel completely at home.
This is a hidden gem! The property is beautiful and so warm and accommodating. The house was immaculate, the bathrooms are renovated and very clean. The rooms are all really nice. They did a great job restoring this property, really paying attention to detail, and it really shows! Definitely would go back!!
My family of 5 adults, 3’children, and 2 dogs spent a month at The Lodge and we were disappointed only in that we couldn’t stay longer. The Lodge is comfortable and welcoming in every way, with charming decorations and furnishings. Everything that anyone could want was provided. Jolene and Gary were wonderfully attentive and responsive and we loved getting to know them. We all felt calm, nourished, and more at peace in this lovely old house than we have felt for some time, and the long, lazy hours on the comfy porch were no small part of that. What a terrific experience- many thanks!
We stayed at Jolene’s wonderful home for several weeks in the spring of 2020. We chose it for the bucolic location and the enormous forested land that is completely unique for a rental property (100+ acres). Although there were only 3 of us, we rented both sides of the house for privacy.
The house itself is wonderfully old and filled with character. It’s clean and recently remodeled but they didn’t take away any of the historic charm of the old lodge. The house was amazingly well appointed for guests. Very comfortable beds, good sheets, pillows and throws. Food in the fridge and pantry well beyond the normal salt and condiments. The generosity of the appointments gives you an early hint of the generosity of spirit of the owner, who is a genuinely wonderful person.
Beyond the home itself, the property is amazing. A mile of wooded trail from end to end, filled with streams, waterfalls, bogs, deep forest; everything you would want in a Catskills mountain environment. I would go for multiple hour adventures with my son in the woods and never leave the property. And rarely hear a sound beyond nature.
The location is private but has really easy access to both Saugerties and Woodstock. There are good grocery options nearby, and if it wasn’t for the quarantine, there were plenty of good looking restaurants as well. You are also close to many hiking trails and mountains for summer or winter fun. The nearby roads allow great running and biking options to stay fit for an extended stay.
Finally, the attentiveness and service from Jolene were outstanding. She was always ready and eager to help whenever we needed anything.
Ps - just as a reminder, this is an old quirky house. You may bump your head on lower ceilings. It’s set up in the traditional style with smaller rooms. But this is all part of the charm. It’s not a new, sleek construction and I love it for that.
