No major issues or concerns. We communicated with property management regarding issues (tv was dying) and it was fixed very quickly. Beds were comfortable, pool was clean, and the beach was close by, which is exactly what we were looking for!

View was amazing. You could hear the waves from the bedrooms. Overall the house was clean, there was some sand and sand spurs in the bed but you're at the beach and sand is forever. The stairs are steep and have nowhere to hold onto which was difficult to carry luggage up and down and difficult for some of the older folks to manage. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, the layout of the house, and would recommend the Awbrey House for your next Gulf Shores stay.

Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re thrilled to hear you loved the views and being able to hear the waves from the bedrooms- such a special part of staying at the Awbrey House. It’s also wonderful that the layout worked well for your group and that you had an overall enjoyable stay. We appreciate your understanding regarding the sand- beach life definitely has a way of following you inside! That said, we’ll be sure to share your feedback with our housekeeping team to keep improving. We also wanted to mention that the home does have railings on the stairs for support, though we completely understand that stairs can still be a bit tricky, especially when carrying luggage or for some guests in your group. Thank you again for your recommendation! We’d absolutely love to host you again for your next Gulf Shores getaway.

Great

The house was very nice and perfect for our large family. I was hoping there would be a few more “starter” supplies when we got there. And I had hoped there would be a few beach chairs/toys for us to borrow. But, overall, very nice accommodations and loved being on the beach!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the second time we have stayed at the Awbrey House, and it fits our needs perfectly. From location, beach accessibility and the pool (grandkids favorite) we couldn't have asked for anything better. The kitchen could use some smaller spoons and baking pans (minor things). We plan on being back!

Great location, needs a good deep clean

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at this location 3 separate times. Location is great. House needs a good deep clean. Found an old contact lens on the floor, along with random socks under the bed. Pillows were old and moldy. Washer was left closed up and smelled awful when opened.

Awbrey house

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an absolute blast in Gulf Shores! Being right on the beach was so perfect!! Our only complaint was that the house was dated. The door to the back deck was very difficult to open, especially being that the first person to open the door was my 7 year old and the handle fell right off. This was the main door we used being that it went right out to the beach. If they replaced the back door I would have no complaints!! We did purchase a couple of skillets and left at the home as we cooked every night and the pots/pans situation was very limited! We had awesome neighbors that also loaned us some of their cookware! Overall though we were very satisfied with our stay and would love to go back tomorrow! 😉

Aubrey House

We had a good time and love the area. We like the house but were a little disappointed in a few things - mostly related to housekeeping. We’ve been coming to the area for 10+ years so we have a lot to compare it to. Not a BAD experience but just giving feedback that we notice and consider and wont book your unit again. Most of my family has asthma and there was LOTS of dust - especially in the bathrooms. Lots of dead bugs in all bathrooms when we arrived. All towels had bad stains. Couldnt get all our groceries in the fridge and two of the door shelves were missing. Only about 4 channels on the TV. Couldnt get the outside lights to come on, so called the repairman only to discover that you have to turn a random switch on inside to get the outside switch to work. It wasnt a bad place, but just seemed like it really needed a little xtra TLC.

What a great family vacation!

Rating Details: The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our tribe just finished spending a wonderful week at Awbrey House in Gulf Shores! I was thankful for the great directions/details that were provided in advance. We had a question about the pool and also a question about one of the TVs during our stay. Both times, Sunset Properties responded immediately and answered our questions. The pictures really didn't do the property justice. It was actually even nicer than expected! The location was perfect- easy walk to the beach. We were a little worried about the public beach access right next to the house, but it was absolutely no problem. We had plenty of room and never felt crowded on the beach... even over the 4th of July! I always bring my own kitchen items... but one suggestion would be to upgrade the knife set. It was pretty terrible. I would also suggest adding some family style size serving dishes in the kitchen and more prep/mixing bowls. We found a vacuum on the second floor, but a second vacuum on the main floor would be handy.Bonus: the grandkids appreciated the beach items that we found in the outside closet!

Fantastic Thanksgiving in Awbrey House

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Working with Sunset properties was a great experience. I received communication timely, and they responded to me immediately. I received a text with door code, wifi passwords, etc. the day before our arrival, so I didn't need to ask. The big deck, easy walk to the water, and easy location to town (restaurants) were absolutely ideal. There were a couple of very minor issues with ruined skillets (people, please don't use forks with nonstick skillets - even if they aren't yours!) but was assured they would be replaced immediately. The upstairs guest shower was slow, and the kitchen sink was grimy. None of this ruined our trip - or even slowed us down. Thanks for a great experience.
