The experience was exceptional. The home is beyond beautiful and in a peaceful location. Met all need. No problems with contact between host. Loved this and would definitely stay again!
This was our 3rd stay at the Melody house and it’s always the best little getaway! Everything about the home is perfect, and the town of st. Francisville is precious! We are planning a trip booking both homes soon with more family coming and we absolutely can’t wait! Pam is so kind and responsive! We absolutely rate the Melody house 10/10!
All the mapping apps except for Apple Maps took us to a different location 30 minutes away. So we drove to the wrong location and had to figure out where the actual location was. It would be helpful to put detailed directions in the listing so this doesn’t happen to other renters. Once we got to the place it was super nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay.
Had a nice stay to visit family. More family decided to stay last minute and host was appreciative of the notice. Communication was good. It is a quiet place to stay- we loved birding on the bridge in the morning. Appliances worked well and everything was clean. Would stay there again!

I stayed at Melody House and my Family Stayed at Harmony House
Upon arriving from my flight late at night, a VRBO with no check in was a welcome site. Until we got to the wrong address. We attempted to break into the house at the address at midnight from the email that I was sent. Thank you all that is great, that no one was home. After calling her she apologized and we packed the car back up and went to her other property. We got right in and immediately found mice. Over 2 days we killed 5 mice and the traps finally remained untouched after that. The owner claimed to have no knowledge of the mouse problem but there were traps literally in every room of the house. Clearly there is a pre existing mouse issue. Our family staying at her other property also had a mouse infestation. After informing her of this, her resolution was “Sorry, I’m sending an exterminator, we had no idea.”
THANK God we didn’t realize this bit until packing up. The sheet under the sheet we were sleeping on had what can only be assumed are blood stains on it. Our sheet had a brown splotch on it as well which we sadly assumed was mouse related and just went with…... Overall, this was a sketch on the cleanliness scales for any VRBO I’ve ever stayed in.
This property was not only beautiful it was very clean. Had everything we needed at our fingertips. Very private with beautiful views. I will definitely stay here again.
We loved the house and it was such a peaceful setting. It is perfect if you want to get away from everything and enjoy nature. It’s a big space and very clean.
Lovely quiet wooded house with so much charm and character. Great to getaway from Baton Rouge or surrounding area. You feel like your in arknsas. We had fires in the indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Close to hiking at tunica hills. Very quiet remote location.
Very quiet and relaxing. Very dark and needs more lights inside and out.

Enchanting
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Melody, and we recommend it to others! My favorite aspect of the property was the covered porch. I could have stayed there forever. All that said, the property is a bit distressed. I texted the host multiple times and only heard back twice, which was very disappointing. Lastly, if you are arriving at night it is extremely challenging finding The Melody because the sign is not lit up nor is the entrance. If you are relying on GPS, it has you driving past it and trust me . . . in pitch dark . . . The Melody is not visible!!!!!!!! Once we knew where it was located, driving back at night after dinner was still tricky but doable (often having to turn around and try again). There are solutions available if the host wants to improve the experience.
I booked the Melody House for m Bday and a girls trip with my daughter in law and 8 yr old granddaughter. It was everything I expected plus. I will definitely be returning to the Melody House.
Beautiful peaceful country setting with a lot of living area. Nice deck with awesome bridge to the adjoining Melody House. Over all nice experience.

Fun with Friends
Ours was a gathering of a few long time friends. The back porch breezes, swaying trees, and birdsongs, made Melody House a peaceful and pleasant place for us to talk, laugh, and share memories and support. We hope to be back one day, maybe even extending our group and also renting the “sister” house, Harmony House. Thanks for sharing your home!
We rented this property for a quick weekend getaway with some friends. It was perfect for relaxing and unwinding. It's only about 15-20 minutes away from town St. Francisville. The pictures does not do this place justice. We walked in and the home was so inviting. The back porch was perfect to sit back and relax and bask in the beauty of the outdoors. The bridge is a short walk way to the other rental.
Pam is a patient and super helpful owner. She guided us to the house to ensure we arrived safely. The property has a fascinating history and the house is absolutely charming! The kitchen and back porch are awesome and the quiet surrounding was exactly what our group needed to read, pray and share! Highly recommend
We had a lovely, relaxing time. Very clean and beautiful place. Enjoyed listening to the birds in the morning while enjoying coffee. Short drive into town for dinner. Plan to revisit!
Number one for my wife and me was a quiet location in the woods, and this home delivered. The home is laid out well and nicely appointed. Pam was super-responsive and made the experience trouble free. Will definitely consider this location for another short trip in the future.
We stayed for a weekend with my younger boys. Great layout. Plenty of space to play. They loved the piano. We loved the fireplaces ;) They aren’t kidding about no streaming, but there’s Dish and next time we’ll be smart and bring DVDs.
