AVAILABILITY NOTICE: We block all wedding season (late spring, summer, early fall) weekends for the exclusive use of weddings and events. Please do not look at the calendar to see our availability as it will look like every weekend is booked/blocked, when this may not be the case. Please contact us for availability.

The Red Barn Inn is a beautiful and iconic 10 acre farm located in the heart of Deep Creek Lake. Established in the early 1800's, the Harvey Farm was a dairy farm for more than a century, changing to a potato farm in the 1900's, providing potatoes to Snyder's of Hanover. In 2002, the 10,000 sq foot barn was transformed into a classic, rustic, but elegant wedding and events venue and the inn itself was created to host the entire wedding party for a weekend of celebration.

After many years of happy use, the 10 bedroom inn was renovated from top to bottom this year and every room was professionally decorated in the modern farmhouse style. Love shiplap? It is EVERYWHERE! All 10 bedrooms feature king size beds, private bathrooms, gas fireplaces with barn beam mantles, and cable television. They were designed for a comfortable and calm experience and each and every one is different.

Your guests may chose between any of the three first story rooms, one handicap accessible with a roll in shower and a twin sleeper sofa, one with a queen sleeper sofa in addition to the standard king size bed and one elegantly designed for a bride and her bridesmaids to prepare for her wedding day. The second floor features five bedrooms with a breathtaking view of the on-property pond and two with a lovely rear meadow view.

A large gas fireplace greets you as you enter the front door into the shared great room. There are multiple spaces to read, chat, or watch a movie and a full kitchen for meal preparation. Are you planning a wonderful family meal? The great room has a dining table large enough to share with all of your favorite people.

The outside is expansive! Fields to wander through, a stocked pond to fish in, and a huge space for front porch sitting! Use our huge red barn as the perfect photo backdrop. Slide down the sledding hill or create the perfect s'more fireside under a 300 year old tree. Walk down to the Par-3 golf course and play at no cost, grab your rackets and hit the neighborhood tennis courts or spend your days lakeside fishing or swimming in the lake.

The Historic Farm property was beautiful! Our family enjoyed fishing at the pond and biking in and around the property. We hiked and swam in the nearby State Parks. The bedrooms were spacious and the king sized beds comfortable. It was great to have meals with the whole family around the large dining room table. The ice machine in the cozy kitchen was an added bonus.

We stayed at this beautiful home in Swanton for two nights over New Year’s Eve, and it was absolutely perfect. The house is ideal for a large gathering or a family reunion — incredibly spacious, thoughtfully laid out, and exceptionally clean.The views surrounding the home are stunning and really add to the overall experience. Everything was well organized and clearly explained ahead of time, so even though the host was very responsive, we hardly needed to reach out because everything was so easy and smooth.This home truly felt welcoming and comfortable, and it was the perfect place to celebrate together. We would absolutely love to come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, stress-free stay in Swanton.

Perfect for Large Groups (but tiny kitchen)

This place was amazing for our large group. Everyone had their own room/bathroom. There was plenty of room to gather together as well. The only downside which proved hard to navigate was the extremely small kitchen. It was difficult cooking for the group because there was no counter space and the fridge/freezer was not sufficient for a place this size. With that in mind, you will not be disappointed staying here!

Multi generation celebration

We gathered to celebrate the 85th birthday of our mother (grandmother, great grandmother)! The space for all the family units was fabulous! The gathering space was well utilized including both indoor and outdoor spaces. We prepared our own meals due to multiple dietary concerns, the kitchen was a bit small for our needs but provided all necessary equipment. Communication with our host was excellent and almost always immediate. We are grateful for the opportunity to stay in such s lovely place!!

We celebrated our 60th Wedding anniversary and 80th birthday here. Between the Stone House and the Inn we were able to have all of our immediate family stay there for a very special time. It was special to be able to all sit and have meals together. We could spend evenings gathered in the common area playing games and just catching up on our lives. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys spending quality time together in a great setting. For those who want more than just sitting on the expansive front porch rocking, there is golfing and fishing right there, as well as hiking nearby.

The pictures don't do this awesome getaway location justice. The tranquility of the area sets in when you wake up early in the morning with a cup of Joe on the front porch of the main house and take in the scenic view as the wind gently caresses the still water. We loved the harmony of the green grass surrounding the pond next to the accent red barn with a calming background. We enjoyed the thoughtful touch-less hospitality of the Red Barn Inn which proactively anticipated and met our needs and concerns. The mission if you choose to embark on this gateway, will be to have a relaxing vacation. By the middle of the gateway, you would assuredly hear yourself saying “Serenity now!!!!….”
