Lovely owner
We loved the property and pool however I was disappointed to learn we had to. Lean before we left. Normally when we rent the cleaning is included in the price.
I am glad you loved the property and the pool, and I am sorry to hear of your disappointment at being expected to tidy at the end of your stay. Leaving the barn clean and tidy and in the state that you found it, and would like to find it, is something that we ask of all our guests and is indeed referred to on the booking website.
Charming, warm, friendly; peaceful, perfect!
I had the most incredible time here. The property is lovely. It’s so peaceful there and there is so much nature to take in. The pool area was beautiful, the bed was amazing, I got the best sleeps. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to make great meals. There are lots of grocery stores within a 15 minute drive. The houses and buildings in the area are breathtakingly beautiful. And Nick & his mom were so warm and friendly and great to talk to! Thankyou!!
Beautiful converted barn, well-equipped throughout and wonderful private pool - 10/10
The barn at Ebeon is a lovingly restored and modernised house, with plenty of space for a family to relax in and enjoy. From breakfast under the vines in the private garden via a keenly contested game of pool volleyball and an aperitif of the local pineau by the pool as the sun began to set through to collapsing into the fantastically comfortable beds - it really is the perfect place to stay in Charente-Maritime.
Thank you so much to our wonderful hosts who were on hand to greet us and help us settle in (also thank you for the first grapes of the season!).
The kitchen is brilliantly equipped, the living space boasts plenty of room (along with an assortment of consoles and a great TV that helped keep the children occupied on the rare occasion it rained) and the bedrooms were a decent size with very comfortable beds.
The towns of Saintes, St. Jean d'Angeley and Cognac are all within a 30 minute drive and the islands of Oleron and Re are about an hour away.
We hope to be back ... again and again.
Peaceful, well-equipped and delightful property!
We absolutely loved our stay here at Ebeon. The house was very well equipped, with everything our family (two adults, two children) could want on holiday. The pool and grounds were beautifully kept and provided lots of fun times for all of us. It was also incredibly peaceful, with lots of places to "chill out." Everything was comfortable and we loved being at the gite as much as exploring this beautiful corner of France. Five-stars from all four of us!
Great house gave us a wonderful holiday
"Beautiful converted barn with private pool, in peaceful setting." Sums it up. Wonderful house which was very well equipped with plenty of space and set in immaculate gardens. Delightful owners were very helpful throughout. Pool is a great asset with the enclosed courtyard giving both privacy and shade if required. Our family had a great time and we'd recommend it to everyone. Thank you.
a week in July
We were a party of two adults and two 18 year olds. We found the barn light, airy with a very well equipped kitchen. The pool area was lovely and well appreciated by the boys. The barn is in an attractive setting with a very helpful owner nearby. The coast is easy to get to and the nearby towns, Saintes and St Jean d'Angely have a good range of restaurants. Lots of leisure activites too for the active minded. Would go back.
Map
Round about it's all vines and sunflowers, in an undulating landscape interlaced with woodland. The area is immersed in history, the nearby town of Saintes no exception with its ruined Roman amphitheatre. Saintes is also the place to go for fashionable shops, restaurants and bars, and electric riverboats on which to cruise the river Charente. Nearby St Jean d'Angely has a medieval clock tower and the two towers of the 18thC. Abbey Church, as well as gorgeous markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, boating lake, and modern municipal pool complex (not that you'll need it!). The distillery tours at Cognac are a must, as is the local speciality, a fortified aperitif named Pineau. The stunning coastal town of La Rochelle is to the north west, with it's seafood restaurants clustered round the port, and south of there are the beautiful, sandy, Atlantic beaches of the Cote Sauvage. Royan and the Palmyre Zoo are worth a visit, as are the islands of Re and Oleron, not forgetting Bordeaux.
