About this property

The Retro Sleepover Pad- 2 BR/1.5BA

Summary:
Welcome to The Retro Sleepover Pad - location, luxury, and vibes! Our 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath home is designed for a joyful stay. The Pad sleeps 6 and includes a stocked kitchen, walk-in shower, and is a prime location steps away from Seventh Son Brewery and Budd Dairy in the Italian Village. Unassuming on the outside, this home is updated inside featuring 90's throwbacks. Superb location in the city- close to Short North, downtown, Ohio State, Convention Center, and highways!

The Space:
Our house is perfect for small groups, families, couples, and solo travelers. It is great for a fun night out with friends or a home base for exploring Columbus. The first floor has an open living room and dining room great for relaxing, as well as a half bath and fully stocked kitchen. Upstairs is a full bathroom with walk-in shower. At one end of the house is the main bedroom with a queen bed and a desk. Down the hallway on the other side of the bathroom is the 2nd bedroom with 2 queen beds and a desk. Our location is central to the Short North area, and Downtown Columbus.

A recent guest wrote: "Perfect location if you’re looking to indulge in Columbus nightlife within walking distance. Budd Dairy Hall is right across the street with tons of good and drink options. Multiple bars and restaurants without walking distance and close to short north. Home is very charming and spacious. Who doesn’t love board games!?"

Guest Access:
Guests can access the entire house (including the basement laundry), and share the yard space with the white house next door.

The Neighborhood:
Our Neighborhood of Italian Village is the most exciting part of Columbus! Our spot is on a main street that is historic in Columbus for once having electric street cars. We are just 3 doors south of Seventh Son Brewery, and very close to Drunch, Little Rock, Hoof Hearted, Food Hall, St. James Tavern, and many things coming soon! We are across the street from Cameron Mitchell's Food Hall with multiple incredible dining options. Just 10 min north of downtown Columbus and a few minutes to the interstate.

The Retro Pad is on a busy street (4th Street) and we do not have reserved off-street parking. There are usually spots available on our street, but you may need to walk a block or so.

Getting Around:
Uber and Lyft are great in this area. Lime and Byrd scooters are another great option. Our street has a bike lane that can take you to most places in the city. There is a bus system with a stop close by.

Guests must provide a valid driver’s license or ID and sign our Rental Agreement after booking to receive arrival instructions. Nice and convenient access to Columbus attractions
Terrific restaurants within walking distance. The budd dairy food hall is right across the street and is a must when visiting Columbus! Check in and check out process was very simple. The house is on a busy street and it is noisy. No dedicated parking but street parking is available.

Good for short stay
Location was great and process was easy. Property could definitely use some love. Many if not most light bulbs burned out. Holes in walls. Furniture worn and uncomfortable. Bed mattress comfortable but no duvet, just the cover. Floors sticky. Bare minimum put into the property to create a VRBO. Fine for two nights but wouldn't want to stay longer.

Listing not transparent about parking or motion sensors/camerasand
Location was prime. Host was a prompt communicator and they have promised a future discount due to the poor cleanliness, lack of blankets and pillow cases and lack of transparency regarding the additional contract they have you sign after you book and the parking situation. They provide two parking passes to park in front of the property and we didn't have issues but there are signs and the host warns you just before check in that your car could be towed if it's not moved every 3 hours from 8AM to 10PM. Lots of great restaurants were within walking distance and it was an easy commute to the zoo. I wish I would have brought electrical outlet covers and baby gates but this is something I will do when traveling with my babies in the future. Couch was small and only fit two people and there are motion sensors and a porch camera out front that aren't disclosed in the listing. The back patio area felt private and the beds were comfortable. The host gave us our privacy while occupying the unit. They provided soap and shampoo, which I often forget, and they were good quality. The price was a little steep but overall the experience working with Housepatality was smooth. I will likely take advantage of their generousity and book other of their properties again in the future to utilize the promised discount.

Great Value for the location!
Cute studio apartment above a detached garage. Nicely renovated, very clean and great location. my wife and I stayed with our two dogs, short walk to the short north and the Italian village park was a great place for dogs to hang out just a block away. Host was very responsive and check in and check out process was very simple. Will definitely stay again.
