The Casa da Vigia is a cottage situated in a waterfront location with a magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean. This house was recently built on the house of an old whaling and official whaling. At the beginning of whaling, in the parish of Calheta de Nesquim, the site was used for whale watching to have a very broad view of the sea. Downstairs has a 1 bedroom apartment, studio for up to 2 people. Has a sleeping area with twin beds, a recreational area to watch TV, Kitchenette and a full bathroom with tub. It has a laundry room, a large terrace with wonderful views over the village and the immensity of the sea.
The house has an outdoor kitchen with barbecue and wood oven.
The water heating is done with solar energy through two panels and thermo-accumulator.

Nice quite location with a great view. There is a natural swimming pool down the road with a cafe to eat with a great view as well. Pico is amazing. Must drive the whole island to see all the various landscaping.

Die Wohnung ist perfekt für 2 Personen und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Es hat absolut nichts gefehlt. Alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Das Highlight ist aber die fantastische Terrasse. Wenn man vorne sitzt, hat man einen 180 Grad Blick auf das Meer. Möchte man Wind- oder Sonnenschutz, hat man viel Platz an der Seite unterm Dach. Die Eigentümerin Fatima ist eine hervorragende Gastgeberin und gab uns bei Ankunft ein Willkommenspaket mit lokalen Produkten der Insel, köstlicher selbstgemachter Marmelade und sogar einem Erinnerungsgeschenk an die Insel, das ihr Sohn, ein Künstler, gestaltet hat. Ihre Tipps zu Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Bäckerei und Restaurants in der näheren Umgebung waren sehr hilfreich. Auch zum Zeitpunkt, um auf den Pico zu klettern, hat sie uns perfekt beraten. Es war ein super entspannter und angenehmer Aufenthalt.

Eine sehr schöne Ferienwohnung

Schon der Empfang in unserer Ferienwohnung war einmalig : mit Wein, selbsgebackenem Kuchen, Obst, Aufschnit u. Anderes! So konnte man sich schon am 1. Tag heimisch fühlen. Die Ausstattung der Räumlichkeiten war für uns ebenso sehr zufriedenstellend, so dass wir diesen Aufenthalt nur positiv bewerten und uns voestellen können, hier erneut einen Urlaub zu verbringen.

Beautiful comfortable home with stunning sea view

Casa da Vigia is a lovely studio house with a beautiful sea view balcony. The home is very clean and well equipped with everything you need plus some extra nice touches such as shampoo and Maria's basket of homemade chutney and wine. There was an issue with the internet, but Maria did everything she could to resolve this and was easily contactable when we had a problem. The location is in a quiet but pretty part of the Island, about 15 mins from Lajes and 40 mins from Madalena. We would defiantly recommend whale watching with Espaco Talassa, they appeared the most ethical, informative & passionate. For swimming we'd recommend Santa Antonio & Madalena and although we were able to climb pico due to bad weather, we'd recommend watching a Pico sunset by Lagoa Do Cap.
