Vacheroy Gite is here for you to enjoy & whether inside or out, it is fully equipped so you can relax & enjoy your holiday. Free Wi-Fi extends throughout the cottage and outside to all the dining & relaxing areas, including poolside. Enjoy the local markets, vineyards, country walks, lakes & restaurants right on our doorstep or venture a little further afield for historic cities, beaches & medieval villages. The great Bordeaux vineyards of St Emillion or the Chateaux of the Medoc are within easy reach. On the borders of Aquitaine & Charente Maritime, the area offers thousands of years of history for you to enjoy. Roman remains, walled villages of the Hundred Years & religious wars & the centre of the wine trade between France & Britain in the wonderful UNESCO World Heritage 18th century city of Bordeaux itself.

Vacheroy gite comfortably sleeps 8 (Maximum 6 adults) and has all you need for an amazing luxury holiday in rural France.

Lounge - The double height lounge & dining room is the centre piece of the inside of our Gite and has created a few "wow" moments from previous guests. When you see it I'm sure you will love the light airy feel & the beauty of the old Elm beams. The lounge has a large corner leather sofa, further sofa & a dining table which can be extended to comfortably seat six. If you wish to spend some time inside, we have a large flat screen TV with English Sky Freeview channels & a DVD player. Either bring your own films, or borrow one of ours. The lounge also has a new log burner but we very much doubt you will need any extra heat in the Summer!

Kitchen - The spacious and modern kitchen/diner & has everything you'll need whether you love to cook a a lot. It is equipped with a new large family sized, fridge freezer, a gas cooker, microwave, electric kettle, four slot toaster, dishwasher & coffee maker. In the cupboards you'll find all the cutlery, crockery, glasses even plastic glasses for outside) & kitchen implements you'll need to cook up whatever feast you fancy. If we are missing something you would need - just ask and we will see what we can do for you!.The kitchen has views out over the fields and woods.

Bedrooms - The Gite can sleep up to eight comfortably. (Maximum 6 adults) Above the lounge on a mezzanine, there is a romantic double bed & dressing area.
Next door, there are two attic rooms, one featuring twin beds and the other set up as a children's play room. Due to the low ceiling height, these rooms are suitable for your smaller children. The play room features bean bags, games and books, we've found our younger guests (and some older ones!). Everyone has absolutely loved this space and we have named it "The Den". Downstairs there is a large modern ensuite King double room, a family bathroom & a compact twin room with luxury beds.

Outside & gardens - The Gite is approached through double gates to a large front garden containing a plum tree & flowering hibiscus. The views to the front look out over the fields of sunflowers, wheat or maize towards the church at Sousmoulins that is beautifully lit up at night.
Exit from the kitchen at the rear and you have your own private terrace area with outside dining table & chairs. There is a shaded area with cushioned benches if you fancy getting out of the sun for a while. For outside dining, we have included a wood/charcoal BBQ. There are also a couple of sun loungers should you fancy sunbathing in private, or watching the sun go down from your private patio.
At the rear you have views out over fields to the woods.
For those of you with small children, we have created a garden for you with a picket fence area to keep small children safe and from wandering unaccompanied to the pool area. The garden also features children's swings.
The highlight of the rear gardens is the 10x5 metre heated swimming pool & large patio area. The pool is totally private to you. It's situated in order to be in full sun from dawn to dusk & has an in-pool seating area so you can soak up the rays, whilst sitting & drinking your sundowners in the cooling water.... The pool is open between 10am & 8pm but those times can be varied by mutual consent. If you need to swim a couple of miles before breakfast who are we to stop you!?
If lounging by the pool is not quite enough & you're a little more energetic the two acre garden is also equipped with an all weather table tennis table, pool table, the traditional French game of boules, a badminton net & rackets, a croquet set and small football nets.

If you prefer to chill in the shade and read a book, we have a shaded area with sofa and chairs. Take in the peace and quiet with country views which also overlooks the swimming pool and patio area.
If you fancy a bit more exercise, why not bring your bikes or hire locally, it’s a great area for cycling. If you like to bring your own bikes we can store them securely & this area is fantastic for cycling. The roads here are very quiet & in France cyclists are given the utmost consideration - it's the law! As a keen cyclist myself I'd be happy to point you in the right direction & suggest itineraries etc. There are many marked cycle routes in the area. If you aren't able to bring your bikes with you, we can arrange for cycle & accessory hire through who will deliver it all to your doorstep.
We have our own pets at Vacheroy gite so we do only accept pets by prior agreement registered guide/service dogs are welcome. We have a friendly dog, a young Cavachon called Daisy and 3 cats. We also foster kittens from time to time.
Vacheroy is a non smoking property.
All high quality, 100% cotton towels, duvets, pillows and linens are included. Please bring your own beach towels as they are not provided.
Dishwasher tablets, cleaning products, washing up liquid are provided along with salt & pepper, cooking oil, clingfilm and tinfoil.
We include a welcome pack of Coffee, tea, milk, bread, butter, cheese & a bottle of Bordeauxl wine (red, white or rose, your choice!)
We can also shop for your arrival if you wish by prior arrangement.
Rate is for 8 persons. For 4 persons or less, please inquire.
