The house is set in the quiet village of Mauzac on the banks of the river Dordogne. The house is arranged over 3 floors with access right onto the tow path of the Dordogne River. A very family friendly house with shared pool and garden . The doors from the kitchen lead onto the patio garden and to the fenced shared pool which looks onto the river. The ground floor has a large open plan living area complete with satellite TV and DVD player. This leads onto the fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, stereo for your CDs and Alexa speaker . The utility room off the kitchen has a washing machine . With bright stylish co-ordinated bedrooms and bathrooms the second floor has 2 twin bedrooms, main bathroom and a double room with shower en-suite. On the top floor the large master bedroom boasts a 3m wide king size bed, fabulous beams and ensuite with freestanding retro bath, twin wash basins and views across the river.
Places of Interest: There are many Chateaux nearby such as de Biron,de Cadouin and de Monpazier which are medieval sites rich in architectural and historic heritage. Grotte de Domme is the largest natural grotto in Perigord Noir underneath the XV11th town hall in Domme. Les Jardins d'Eau are water gardens situated 8km from Sarlat
La Roque Gageac is a magnificent and beautiful village in the rock cliffs where you can go on river trips,canoeing and hot air balloon rides. In the stunning village of Beynac you can take an excursion on a gabarre (19th century boat) to see the spectacular site of Beynac castle on the cliff 150 metres above. Nearby there is also the Musee Napoleon en Pergord situated in the manor house La Pommerie where you will see more than 150 objects on display.
Family Attractions: Children can enjoy many attractions nearby such as the Aquarium in Le Bugue with over 6000 fish to see.
There are the Aqua parks at Bergerac and Parc de Loisirs with various pools, children's play areas , toboggan slides and Loisirs has a lake with climbing inflatables structures such as an 'iceberg'.
The Jacquou parc has rare animals, a water complex with slides and a good selection of children's rides.
Lac de Gurson is the nearest lake with beach complex approximately 45 minutes from Mauzac. It is a wooded area of 63 hectares where you may fish, it has a water slide, horse riding and pedalos. There are also adventure parks, a go karting track and quad biking a short distance away.
Restaurants: A full list has been compiled of restaurants in the surrounding area. It is recommended to book restaurants in advance. The many night markets are worth a visit in the summer months. The village restaurant Bella Ciao is excellent.
